"I am very satisfied with the tree cutting work that was done. The crew was courteous and efficient. Mr. Dempsey himself came on site to oversee the job. The price was reasonable. And I will definitely be hiring this company again for a future tree work in my properties."

"great workers, great price. 4 of them came. they went above and beyond trimming large oak trees that were over 200 years old. On site they were willing to do extra work for a small additional fee. All of the cut wood was removed as requested...and they even raked the yard clean of all leaves & debris. I have other rental properties and will certainly be using this group again."

"2/2022: We were in need of a tree trimming service (mainly from our neighbor's trees encroaching on our property). Action Enterprises of Pensacola was the first to respond from the recommendations of Angie's List. I am glad that we went with them. The free quote that Danny provided was very reasonable. Danny told me exactly what his crew was capable of doing and they did exactly what we contracted for and a wee bit more. Danny and his crew arrived within the agreed upon timeframe and got right to work with all of the equipment needed to tackle the job. They were very pleasant, quite funny and extremely professional. I am very pleased with the finished job. Thank you Danny Alvare and your crew of Action Enterprises of Pensacola for a job WELL DONE! I highly recommend them. Thank you again guys! "The entire crew were very knowledgeable, courteous and prompt. This team does not use heavy equipment to access the branches and limbs, which saves the yard from being torn up. The fact that they climb the trees takes a little longer, but not much. And the final product was amazing. They are highly recommended!!!"

"We had a massive tree leaning way too close to our house after a storm, and honestly it had us pretty nervous. It looked dangerous every time the wind picked up, and we knew it needed to come down before something bad happened. Branden and his crew showed up on time, explained everything clearly, and handled the removal like absolute professionals. You could tell they knew exactly what they were doing — what looked terrifying to us seemed like just another day for them. They worked safely, efficiently, and cleaned everything up afterward better than I expected. Branden was a great guy the whole time, respectful, hardworking, and easy to talk to. If you need tree work done and want a company that’s skilled, professional, and trustworthy, I’d highly recommend them."

Arborists questions, answered by experts

Though summer is not ideal, you can do some light pruning during this time of year. Just make sure it’s not excessive. Vigorous pruning will stress the tree and impact next year’s growth. Generally, August to September are the best summer-pruning months, particularly for fruit trees.

Trees provide many benefits, including shade, habitat for local wildlife, and cleaner air, so it’s always a good idea to try an alternative strategy like crown reduction before you chop one down. But sometimes, cutting down a tree is the only option (like if it’s severely diseased). A licensed arborist can assess the tree and recommend the best course of action.

It's easy to misidentify trees that appear to be maple trees due to similarities in leaf shapes. Sweetgum, sycamore, and yellow poplar all have leaf shapes and appearances similar to maples. The fact that around a dozen maple tree varieties exist, only about half of which are considered common, makes misidentification an often typical occurrence.

On average, tree removal costs around $750, with a typical range between $200 and $2,000. The final price depends on several factors, including the tree's height, trunk diameter, species, and overall health. Accessibility is also a key factor; costs will be higher if the tree is in a hard-to-reach area or located near structures like power lines or your home. Additional costs may apply for services such as stump removal (which can add $100 to $150), log-splitting, debris cleanup, and obtaining necessary permits. It is also customary to tip the professional, usually between $20 and $100.

Yes, it’s possible to overwater a newly-planted tree. Daily watering is great for the first few weeks, but it’s important not to go overboard. Excessive watering can lead to various problems, including root rot, fungal diseases, and a lack of root development.
