"I am very satisfied with the tree cutting work that was done. The crew was courteous and efficient. Mr. Dempsey himself came on site to oversee the job. The price was reasonable. And I will definitely be hiring this company again for a future tree work in my properties."

"Promised more than could be delivered - did an in-person estimate and quoted for two trees plus stump grinding, but when he came out, could only do one tree and no stump grinding. Left debris all around my house and on my roof, and completely destroyed my giant elephant ear planted against my house by carelessly tossing limbs off the roof. HOWEVER - the price was extremely fair - I am just stuck having to hire someone else to finish the job."

"Best service I have ever had from a tree removal service. Removed three trees, Trimmed two more and yard was left cleaner than when they arrived at the house. It is nice to have a contractor respond to you, look you in the eye and listen to what you say. Thank You to Mark and his team!!"

Arborists questions, answered by experts

While it’s best to have access to large, healthy, strong trees in a safe position, treehouse living is still possible without them. Contractors can fit tree posts to build the structure onto or use posts as additional support alongside the trees themselves. If you’re in doubt about the suitability of the trees on your land, consult with a local treehouse builder before you start the project.

No. Topping a tree refers to severely cutting down all its major branches and tree in a straight line. It was once recommended for streetside deciduous trees but has fallen out of practice. Topping leads to many problems, removing so much of the tree that many trees struggle to survive and become much more vulnerable to insects and diseases. Also, it doesn’t really help tree growth as once assumed and often leads to an ugly appearance of many sprouting stems in competition to become new main branches.

The amount of time it takes for a tree trunk to rot depends on several factors, including the tree’s size, species, and environmental conditions. It can take anywhere from a few years to several decades for a tree’s trunk to rot. A tree stump, on the other hand, can take up to 10 years to disappear after it’s decayed naturally.

The depth of tree roots depends on the species. Trees like oaks and maples can have root systems that grow down 20 feet or more. However, trees that grow in shallow soils will have roots that go only a few feet down. Research how your tree species grows in your climate area to estimate root depth.

Ideally, you’ll have a good enough relationship with your neighbors that you can kindly mention this task in regular conversation. However, every neighbor (and neighborhood) is different. Your best bet will always be to ask directly and nicely, offering to contribute to the tree trimming efforts if you’d like. However, if you are bothered by the tree and your neighbor is unwilling to cut it, you can involve the help of the homeowners’ association or local authorities, if applicable.
