"Justin with Sawyers Tree Works was great, responsive, respectful, showed up on time, quoted me a reasonable price, and even was able to get the job done on super short notice. He and his crew did a great job, cleaned up after themselves, and even cut a few dead trees I hadn't prioritized. 10/10 recommend."

"Exceptional work. Blake has a well-trained and well supervised crew, all actively involved in getting the job done right. Courteous, respected my property, took extra care to not damage underground lines. They cleaned up afterwards, all debris, raked leaves, and tilled garden so it is replant ready. They even blew off dirt on driveway. Great value for the price!"

"The entire crew were very knowledgeable, courteous and prompt. This team does not use heavy equipment to access the branches and limbs, which saves the yard from being torn up. The fact that they climb the trees takes a little longer, but not much. And the final product was amazing. They are highly recommended!!!"

"Superior service from a true professional. I received four bids to have trees and overgrowth cleared from the perimeter of my yard which is surrounded by woods and uncleared lots on three sides. Danny Alvare responded to my home advisor request, followed up immediately with a visit to estimate the project and clearly captured my vision which was crucial to me in hiring someone. He priced fairly, executed promptly and exceeded my expectations in every way. He brings the right tools to do the job and is fully and personally engaged in the project ensuring the customer (me!) was not just satisfied but happy. Iâ m so glad he answered my request and I highly recommend him and his team all of whom were polite, professional and go well beyond what it expected to do things well. I would give 10 stars if I could."

Arborists questions, answered by experts

According to scientists at Penn State University, spotted lanternflies do not typically kill the trees and plants they feed on, but they can cause branches and segments to die off. However, they have been found to kill cultivated grapes, which can have devastating consequences for vineyard owners and regions that heavily rely on vineyards to create jobs and generate revenue. They have also killed the Ailanthu altissima, known as the tree of heaven, though this is classified as a noxious and invasive weed tree.

A serrated knife will work for cutting off small palm tree fronds, about 1 inch in diameter. For larger fronds, you will need pruning shears. You may also use a pruning saw, and if your palm tree is especially tall, an extended pole saw can help you reach the brown fronds around the trunk.

The shepherd’s tree, native to the Kalahari Desert in Africa, holds the record for the deepest known tree roots at over 230 feet deep. Some African communities refer to it as the “Tree of Life” since it provides food, shade, and medicinal properties to the surrounding community.

Most plum trees are pruned into a vase or open wine glass shape. They’ll have a shorter central leader (the trunk) that supports three to four main branches. Of course, this isn't always the case. If you have a European plum tree, you can grow it in a pyramid shape. Let the central leader extend the length of the tree and prune smaller branches to create the pyramid.

It is possible to burn out a tree stump if it is dried out and in an area of your property with a large buffer. Drill holes in the stump and dig around the base so it burns more easily. Then, build a small campfire on top using kindling and firewood. You’ll need enough to keep the fire going for many hours to completely burn out the stump, especially if it’s large.

Monitor the fire closely to ensure it doesn’t spread, and have a hose on hand if it starts to get out of control. When the fire is out, break apart the burned stump and dig out what’s left of it.

If this sounds like a good option, learn more about how to burn a tree stump before attempting it, as it does come with risks.
