Rob Donavan contacted me by phone and we spent a good amount of time going over the project. I sent him my building plans and he provided me with his cost proposal. I had asked for 3 other proposals and feel that Rob's was very fair and timely. In the end, we decided not to go forward with the project due to issues at home but if I ever did build, I would certainly go back to Total Home. Rob was very easy to talk to and I have complete trust in his ability

The work went exceptionally well. The pool looks fantastic. The company was very responsive and attentive. More importantly, there was only one delay caused by weather for 2 days and Waldhauer let me know about the delay before hand as a possibility. Other than that delay, the company was right on the plan dates. Our pool had not been touched in 20 plus years. Everything below the deck was the original. The pool looked OK but was showing age. The tile was loose in spots and the pool surface showed some fade. All in all, we could have continued for a couple of more years but we had finally saved up enough to have the pool redone. The tile was the biggest issue for us because we have lots of tile and I am very hard to please about tile work. I made a point to be around when the tile work was done. I was definitely going to micromanage this aspect of the job. I was upfront with Walldhauer and they said no problem. The best part was I didn't have to say anything. The tiler matched up all the tiles so that the asymmetric patterns flowed consistently. In addition, tile needs to be cut to fit to coverage. An average tiler will cut to a corner on a run. A great tiler will plan the cuts for the entire job before setting a single tile. Waldhauer did the later. During demolition, we discovered a problem with part of our pool and how the original was installed. The cement deck was done over the original tile on the riser. This was not part of the original quote. Waldhauer just took care of the issue by demolishing and pouring a new cap consisting of 36 square foot. We got three quotes from different companies. Waldhauer was not the cheapest but they were the most trustworthy and they committed to the timeline. I am extremely happy with the work and the service

Update, bryan barker returned in an attempt to fix things that were not done but paid for by us over a year ago. We told him we wanted only 3rd party contractors to come complete the work, not his company, as they had dropped the ball multiple times. He (bryan) instead brought both wilbur-a-sea (hvac) and Bayshore Electric ( Bayshore Electric, Inc.) to come do the work, but instead he asked them to be there so it looked like to us that they were doing the work. Once they were both done, I noted many code violations with the work and questioned each contractor, they each told me bryan wanted them there to look like they were doing the work. They both apologized with going along with the scheme to lie to us as a homeowner. Ed at bayshore even said Bryan didn't even pay him to come out and it was more of a favor, which explains non-insulated romex was exposed in the attic and wire connections were left exposed outside of junction boxes. Somehow amidst Bryan learning how to do this work for the first time while in my attic, he managed to leave the instructions that come inside new ducting inside, allowing it to be sucked into the exhaust fans he was supposed to be there fixing, further making the fan unusable. His response to me bringing that to his attention “ that’s a first, sorry” . It was also discovered after watching 2 youtube videos and reading the instructions that barker construction mounted the fans incorrectly as well, as they rotated them 90 degrees in the bracket, leaving one side unable to be secured. This was hands down one of the worst experiences with a GC I’ve ever seen or had, 3 other general contractors i’ve spoken with are blown away by the work or lack of by Barker Construction. If anyone wants pictures or videos of any of this experience, feel free to contact me. To add insult to injury, Bryan even tried getting me to remove all reviews after doing a half *** job and still hasn't replied after that failed attempt at correcting work that was paid for already but never completed. Not to mention he also didn’t seal our shower seat down properly allowing water to get underneath and outside the shower, still waiting for him to fix that mistake as well. We aren’t holding our breath. They also never sealed any of the bathroom exhaust fans we had installed, so all 3 will constantly have an air leak into the attic. It seems as we look closer at all work done by barker, we find mistakes and incomplete work everywhere, as we bring in new contractors to complete the work, they are floored by the lack of detail barker had when we paid them so much for each job

The most uncommunicative company I have ever dealt with. Started the project in the spring of 2020 and it is still not completed. The project manager does not return calls. He will lie to you straight to your face. The phone calls to the office go into a voice mail and never returned. When they do show up, the jobs are done hastily and sloppy. We had to have several things redone and were met with begrudging employees that did not want to correct their mistakes. We paid more than $50,000 for this pool and they don’t have the decency to keep us informed on the project. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY! Mr. Waldhauer showed up very presentable at our home in his Polo attire, but has certainly fallen short of the image, and unfortunately so has our pool. As of the moment it is an embarrassment to our neighborhood

DO NOT USE FLORIDA PLUMBING WORKS—THEY DO NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR WORK !! I had a slow leak in my refrigerator ice maker hose and was unable to turn off the wall pipe (valve wouldn’t turn). Thus had to turn all the water off at the water heater. For whatever reason the plumber chose to cut off the part of the hose that was leaking and added what, I was told a was needle valve. Secondary to the slow leak it was discovered that black mold had formed on the wall, thus I had to place a claim with my insurance company. When the contractor sent by the insurance company came and saw the fix that had been done, one of the 1st things he said was “We have to get a plumber out here to fix this pipe”. Their plumber came and replaced the valve that didn’t work. Being upset because I’d just paid FP Works $190.00 to fix the pipe, and now finding out that it was not done properly, I called the office requesting a refund. They requested and I sent pictures of both fixes. I have not heard from them since. I wish I had read some of these reviews, before I’d hired them. Things can happen, but a reputable business stands behind what their workers do. FLORIDA PLUMBING WORKS DOESN’T. So BUYER BEWARE. IF YOU HAVE ANY ISSUES WITH ANY WORK THEY DO, DON’T EXPECT ANY RESTITUTION. ONCE THEY GET YOUR MONEY IN THEIR HANDS, THEY ARE THROUGH WITH YOU!

I recently had the unpleasant experience of developing a sizable leak in my 25 year old architectural grade asphalt shingle roof. The home is a two story structure with extremely high pitched roof lines. I contacted no less than 5 certified roofing companies for quotes. I was told by one well-known local company that they would not even bid on the job because of the steep pitches. I soon met Zach from Turnkey and, well, the rest is history. It was such a pleasure to work with everyone from Turnkey. I personally had extensive roofing experience having not only installed many roofs in my younger days, but also ran a division of a large commercial roofing company for many years. Zach and company were the best. He was very knowledgeable, always there when he said he would be, continually supervised the work progress and made the entire process totally painless. The installers were incredibly efficient and produced an extraordinary finished product. The local inspector even commented on the expert work they had performed. I was also amazed at the speed in which the project was completed. Nothing was left unfinished or unattended to. Some minor sprinkler head damage was quickly negotiated to a successful outcome and left me 100% satisfied. And by the way, the price was far better than I had expected. Upgrading to a peel and stick sub-roof and 6 high end skylights still kept me under my budget. The neighbors were amazed at the work effort and everyone loved the final product. I highly recommend Turnkey Roofing for any size roofing project

Jeremy and his entire crew was amazing from start to finish, from helping negotiate with the insurance company,to picking out nice replacement fixtures and flooring, to getting the work done on time and on budget. I was most impressed by his incredible attention to detail, he made sure everything was done exactly right and not even a speck of paint out of place. We had to get some baseboards replaced and we have kind of unusual color wood grain baseboards and he made sure that the new ones were stained so that they were almost an exact match to the original! We also had to get a closet door replaced and when he couldnt find a suitable replacement he actually bought one and swapped out the broken peices and put it all back together so it looked and worked like brand new! Also this required a remodel of our kitchen and he made sure it was done fast enough that we only had two days of "down time" for an entire cabinet and counter top swap over! His crew even came in on a saturday when things ran a little behind. I was worried as this was my first experience with a major contracting job and growing up in South Florida you always hear horror stories about contractors taking the money and vanishing in the middle of the job or putting in substandard fixtures or doing things in a haphazard way. All I can say is I could not imagine a better experience than JMS, we are having them back to do even more work because we are so pleased with the results

  • Paul Culver Construction Inc

Paul built our first house in 2013. Quality work, completed on time. Paul offered helpful suggestions since we were moving from the northeast and had no knowledge of the damage wind and salt could do to a home. Thanks to him, we chose the right materials and loved our 2 story beach home. In 2017, we decided we’d be happier as we aged in a single story home. We bought a lot a block from our home and called Paul. Our 2nd new home was completed on time, top quality with Paul’s usual attention to detail. Most people who have custom homes built would be happy to never see the builder again. I feel the fact that we had him build 2 for us shows how extraordinary Paul and his team really are
