Sunshine Plumbing and Gas has a fully trained staff of technicians and office personal ready for your next plumbing upgrade, repair issue or general maintenance. The Sunshine Plumbing and Gas mission is to deliver the highest quality service at an excellent price. We want to earn your business. You will notice a distinct difference between our company and our competitors.

"We had a water heater replacement done a few years back and recently discovered by an inspector that it was neither done to code nor was the permit pulled. When calling them, the office customer service became dishonest and evasive saying things like "the code changes all the time" and "we're a licensed company so we don't need permits." Now they are asking us to pay again to pull the permit and fix the code violation. Apparently the customer service cannot reach their boss/owner even after a week."

We are a State Certified Mechanical Contractor located in Gainesville Florida. We specialize in sales, service and replacement of all residential and commercial air conditioning and heating equipment as well as all commercial refrigeration. We also offer duct cleaning, gas piping and preventative maintenance programs. Our phones are answered 24 hour a day.

"Bob & his team were recommended by McFall Builders and I can see why. They were very professional in removing the old units and installing the new ones. In fact the first floor unit was removed from the garage floor (It took up so much space my car would not fit in the garage) and installed over the entry door. They use wide filters which was important to control the dust as we renovated our home. They are available if a problem crops up and prompt to handle it. We appreciate them and are happy to recommend them."

Gas Logs questions, answered by experts

If you think your home might be experiencing a gas leak, you should immediately leave your home and call a professional natural gas line plumber for assistance. Natural gas is dangerous and highly flammable, so you shouldn’t stay inside your home if you think there might be a gas leak.

It’s no secret that natural gas differs from propane, but you’re in luck—licensed plumbers can also install propane gas lines. When you speak to a gas plumber near you, be sure you specify that your project will be for propane gas, not natural gas. Propane lines are slightly different than natural gas lines, so clear communication is key to ensure that your project is completed without a hitch.

If you're connecting your gas line to appliances, the pro doing the work may recommend flexible corrugated stainless-steel tubing (CCST). Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) with high-density polyethylene (HDPE) is another relatively inexpensive material commonly used for residential pipes. Ultimately, you'll need to find out what is permitted based on the code requirements in your area.

Local codes often mandate specific fittings, permits, and vent considerations for permitted function and safety, which are enforced by professionals.

Plumbers start by walking around the property to see if they notice any signs or sounds of a gas leak. They can also use tools like electronic gas detectors and infrared cameras to find the source of leaks. There are also detectors that use laser, thermal, and multi-wavelength imaging. All these devices allow a plumber to scan your home and pinpoint the exact location of a leak.
