"Absolutely outstanding! Roman came and gave us an accurate estimate for replacement of 19 overhead lights from conical recessed to flush to ceiling. We couldn't find exactly what we wanted but he got them and brought them for the installation visit; also put in about 5 dimmers. The most difficult coordination for us was installation of wall sconces since we were wallpapering the bathroom at the same time. We had to have the wiring put in first, then restore the drywall. Roman cut out the drywall squares so that they would be easy to put back and even put them back in so all we needed to do was spackle for the wallpaper people to cover the work. Then once the wallpaper was done he installed the sconces perfectly and even rehung the bathroom mirror. Great , friendly service! Attached pics of the ceiling light and sconces were rotated in the upload & I couldn't figure out how to change the rotation once uploaded."

"Overall installation went really well. Karl constantly shows ingenuity on any project he works on. He seems to be able to look at a picture and easily re-create it. For example: I handed him 2 newel posts a 8 foot piece of base molding, an 8 foot 5" wide piece of MDF, some bead board, a side panel and a base kitchen cabinet... and he built a beautiful kitchen island. Bottom line- you give him the materials and the idea and he will bring it to life. On top of everything else, Karl is sincere, honest and shows up as promised. He is definitely the exception among your usual lot of South Florida contractors.

"Wednesday they were about an hour late which I understand happens. Upon arrival tech asked what they were to do. Explained about inspection and flickering lights. Forgot to mention foyer light did not work. Tech seemed more interested in up selling gfi circuits for kitchen and bath. I agreed to gfi however they could not get them to fit in existing box. Explained they would reschedule to install gfi in panel I decline. They completed work and left. Never mentioned foyer light wasn't working, lights are still flickering and they left 3 breakers turned off in box."

Chandelier Installation questions, answered by experts

A wafer light lasts about 30,000 to 50,000 hours, depending on the quality and usage. Doing the math translates to approximately 10 to 20 years of regular use. LED wafer lights are known for their energy efficiency and longevity, significantly outlasting traditional incandescent or fluorescent bulbs.

Factors such as usage patterns, operating environment, and stability and consistency of the electrical supply influence their life span. Regular use in a residential setting ensures these lights provide long-term, reliable illumination with minimal maintenance.

Installing a light fixture usually takes about one to two hours for a standard ceiling-mounted fixture, and longer for more extensive installations. The installation time can vary depending on the type of fixture, whether you’re installing a new fixture or replacing an old one, and any additional wiring or drywall work required to finish around the new fixture. When hiring an electrician to install your light fixture, ask them to provide a time estimate based on the specifics of your project.

LED lights are certainly more energy-efficient, using 75% less energy than incandescent bulbs—this can help you save on your utility bills during what is an already expensive holiday season. In addition, LED lights last much longer than incandescent bulbs, about 25% longer. That said, they are also a bit more expensive than incandescent Christmas lights, and emit a bluish hue which some people don't like, compared to the golden glow of an incandescent bulb.

The average cost to install outdoor or landscape lighting is around $4,000, with most projects ranging from $2,000 to $6,000. The total cost can vary widely depending on several factors, including the number of fixtures, design complexity, and the type and quality of the lights used, such as wall sconces, pathway lights, or lamp posts. Other factors that influence the price are the square footage of the area being lit, the amount of electrical work needed, any required excavation or trenching, and local permitting costs. For specific types, you might pay around $100 for pathway or string lighting and up to $700 for lamp post lighting.

A wall-mounting light fitting is called a sconce. Traditionally, sconces were placed along walls in a home to hold candles or torches for lighting. The electrical counterparts with lightbulbs serve an identical purpose, often lighting up hallways. Sconces come in a wide range of shapes and sizes. Changing a light fixture mounted on a wall requires the same basic steps as replacing a ceiling light.
