"Work on sod was done well, first they sprayed a herbicide to kill off the existing weeds and remaining grass. The placed new sod on front and back lawn. The next group cleaned up our flower beds, trimmed the plants and put mulch in all beds."

"Jesse and his team arrived when they said, did the job without delay, replaced parts, tested and reset up a sprinkler system that came with the house we just moved in to and hadn't used yet for the 3 months we have been here. Reasonable charges for this service and regular maintenance of our lawn. We have hired them for lawn service and a large job of tree trimming. So glad we found them."

Lawn Care questions, answered by experts

The American ideal of a large, perfectly-manicured lawn is tied to the post-World War II suburban housing boom. In the decades that followed, technological advances made self-propelled mowers more affordable and plentiful. Many Americans came to see reel mowers as old-fashioned, inconvenient, and time-consuming, and they eventually fell out of fashion.

Your grass-growing schedule depends on where you live and the variety of grass in your lawn. Cool-season grasses typically stop between November and April with a slowdown at the peak of summer. Warm-season grasses will slow when temperatures drop below 55 degrees Fahrenheit in December and January. Hiring a great lawn care team can help you pinpoint the right moment to cut back on mowing.

Yes, it's common for lawns to look bare after dethatching. Dethatching brings soil to the surface to create a "bald" look on your lawn. While you may choose to patch or reseed your lawn if bare patches seem excessive, it's normal for a lawn to look bare after dethatching. With the layer of debris that was blocking water, nutrients, and air from reaching your grass now gone, your lawn is likely to grow better than ever.

No, carpetgrass and St. Augustine grass are two different species. However this is a very common misconception and you may even find St. Augustine grass is mislabeled as carpetgrass. Carpetgrass does not have as much shade tolerance as St. Augustine grass, and has narrower blades with an alternating pattern (while St. Augustine grass has an opposite pattern). St. Augustine grass doesn’t have the weedy, high seedheads that carpetgrass produces.

Make your ryegrass thicker by boosting soil health. Add organic matter, aerate the lawn if the soil is compacted, fertilize appropriately, and see if your lawn needs dethatching. Your local lawn care service can come and look at your lawn and provide specific advice and remedies for your lawn issues.
