"Their service is impeccable and impressive! I actually have used them before to take 3 large oak trees down from my home and they did great! I used their services again for my mom’s house for a large magnolia and another tree. Leroy and his crew were always professional. I didn’t have to move not one plant! (I have many plants in containers and they worked around them, not breaking any leaves!). They arrived on time, cleaned up once completed and made sure all gates were closed. Oh and did I say how fair their prices are! I would call on them forever. He is my go to guy for any and all tree service. If you’re looking for this type of service, you MUST contact them. They are top notch THE BEST!"

"Responded immediately to quote request and was able to complete same day. Zach and his team did a great job - removed dead palm fronds, trimmed River Birch, Magnolia, and Fern. Trees have never looked better."

Arborists questions, answered by experts

Unless there’s some sort of rule in your community’s homeowners’ association that requires you to remove a stump, there’s no law that says you have to take it out. If you’re not wedded to the idea of removing it, there are plenty of ways to get creative with this tree remnant. Using the stump as the medium for a wood carving or turning it into a planter are just two examples of ways to repurpose a tree stump.

Using vinegar to kill tree roots is just one of the clever ways to use vinegar around the house. The method works best when you apply vinegar as directly to the root system as possible. For example, if the old tree roots and stump are currently exposed, drill holes in the tops of the roots and pour undiluted white vinegar into the holes to soak into the plant. Remember that vinegar can kill the surrounding grass and plants should it pour over the edge.

Aim to have your trees inspected and pruned in early spring. At this point in the year, tree service professionals can note where there is old growth from winter and cut that back to encourage new growth for the rest of the year. Pruning at the wrong time of the year could make your trees prone to diseases.

A dead tree should always be cut down, because it could fall and cause injuries or damage, and it can also attract insects like carpenter ants. A tree that’s diseased beyond repair should also be cut down, but it’s not always easy for a homeowner to tell. Signs of disease include dying branches, a hollow trunk, leaning, and discolored or missing leaves, but your best bet is to hire a local arborist who can evaluate the tree and tell you if it can be saved or should be cut down.

No. Topping a tree refers to severely cutting down all its major branches and tree in a straight line. It was once recommended for streetside deciduous trees but has fallen out of practice. Topping leads to many problems, removing so much of the tree that many trees struggle to survive and become much more vulnerable to insects and diseases. Also, it doesn’t really help tree growth as once assumed and often leads to an ugly appearance of many sprouting stems in competition to become new main branches.
