Small jobs welcome

"I recently contracted with Diamond Hands to mow my lawn and to remove several large plants from my yard. Fernandez came to my home and we walked around the yard and discussed my concerns and expectations. He was very respectful of my wishes and offered suggestions for how the job could be done. Next we discussed removing 6 large plants from my yard. He and another man arrived on time and did a beautiful job of removing the plants and repairing the area after the removal. I am extremely impressed with Diamond Hands and feel fortunate to have them taking care of my yard. I highly recommend Diamond Hands."

"I had been trying for months to get someone to remove a HUGE pile of dirt and stones, without success. I called Team Titan. They came out the next morning, gave me a reasonable quote and immediately removed the mess, and it was raining the whole time. I would heartily recommend Team Titan."

"I contacted Marcus just one day before Hurricane Milton for possible yard cleanup and trimming. Marcus contacted my husband and I the morning after to check on us. He arrived the day after to assess the cleanup. Fortunately, the cleanup was not as extensive, but while he was at our house, he trimmed some palm trees and removed a large limb. While he was doing that work, his son helped with the yard cleanup. He is returning to pressure wash our house. He is personable and professional. I would recommend his services."

"MWB Outdoor did an amazing job. Very professional and hard working. They are very methodical and maintain safety in every aspect of the job. Before the job was over Angie’s list called me and asked a couple of questions—then created a review in my name rating MWB with a 3 star and stated job wasn’t complete. This is my only review and if there was a rating higher than 5 MWB would get it."

Leaf Removal questions, answered by experts

Lead toxicity comes from inhaling lead or consuming it. Before the 1980s, when the government banned lead from consumer use, it could be found in paint, plumbing, pipes, ceramics, and even gasoline. Lead paint is toxic for the same reason lead itself is toxic, which is why lead poisoning from paint presents the same as lead poisoning from water or food sources, with a slight increase in respiratory symptoms vs. digestive symptoms. Lead paint is most dangerous when it’s old and peeling, cracking, or otherwise disturbed. This increases the concentration in the air and, therefore, in breathable air.

Professional lead-paint abatement companies use a variety of methods to remove lead-based paint, depending on each particular situation. Some of the most common methods include:

  • Total removal: $8–$17 per square foot

  • Demolition and replacement: $1,000–$15,000 per project

  • Encapsulation: $4 per square foot

  • Enclosure: $10 per square foot

  • Chemical stripping: $10–$17 per square foot

No. Standard homeowners insurance does not cover any kind of lead remediation, focusing instead on sudden, unpreventable events like fires and theft. Many insurance companies will specifically exclude lead paint removal, since it tends to be an expensive and unavoidable project. The exception is if the lead surface is damaged during a covered event (like a flood) and homeowners insurance pays its replacement.

Hazardous waste is waste that poses a threat to human or environmental health. This generally refers to waste that is flammable, corrosive, toxic, or reactive. To confirm if the waste you need to remove is considered hazardous waste, contact your local hazardous waste facility.

Household products such as paints, cleaners, oils, and batteries are considered hazardous and should not be disposed of with regular household waste. Instead, look for local household hazardous waste collection facilities where you can safely dispose of these items without harming the environment or human health.
