"Arthur is most importantly trustworthy. I have had multiple terrible experiences with contractors in Florida. Thank God I found Arthur. He is transparent and punctual. He did everything he said he would do. He checked his sub-contractors work with a fine tooth comb and gave me peace of mind that I honestly rarely experienced with contractors here. I would reccommend him and only him to be honest. Choose another company at your own risk."

"I recently had the pleasure of working with Terramar Industries Inc. for the installation of eight new windows in my home, and I couldn’t be more satisfied with the results. From start to finish, their professionalism and attention to detail were evident. The installation was seamless, and the quality of workmanship exceeded my expectations. Joe, the owner, was a delight to work with—friendly, responsive, and genuinely committed to ensuring the project met all my needs. His hands-on approach and clear communication made the entire process stress-free. It’s refreshing to encounter a business that truly values its customers and delivers on its promises. I highly recommend Terramar Industries Inc. to anyone in need of window installations. "Best of the best! Jackson and Lucas (J and L) are consummate professionals who have deep and comprehensive knowledge of building and construction. They (and their tradesmen) do amazing work of the highest quality. Nothing but praise for this amazing team. The project started out as a small job with some light carpentry and some painting. Once we saw the quality of their work, we ended up completely renovating the entire condo including two new full baths! Oh and not to be overlooked, Jackson and Lucas are two of the nicest people I have ever met. I can’t say enough about these guys!"

"It went great. Other merchants couldn't locate the wheels to replace the broken ones on our shutters. But Chad Goldstein did so. His service was great. He arrived on time, finished all work diligently and efficiently, and the final bill was lower than any of the other vendors I contacted for estimates. All shutters now work perfectly! Chad worked to complete our job, even though it was raining. Very polite, friendly. I will use him for all my future shutter repair and cleaning. He really stands out!!"

Egress Windows questions, answered by experts

An egress window is similar to a regular window. However, this type of window opens fully to allow people to escape the home or rescue personnel to enter the home if an emergency occurs. Egress windows are required in all finished basements before they can be considered a living space.

Depending on size, material, and labor, two windows can cost between $600 and $1,600.

Finding a reputable contractor for an egress window installation involves researching and vetting potential candidates. Start by searching for local professionals, reading customer reviews, and checking their websites for a portfolio of their work.

Once you have a shortlist, ask the following questions to ensure they are qualified:

• Are you licensed and insured?

• What experience do you have installing egress windows?

• Can you provide references from previous customers?

• Do you perform the work yourself or use subcontractors?

• What is the estimated project timeline and your current schedule?

• How do you handle payment?

Yes, you can install a bay window in an existing house. You’ll need to have a structural engineer draw up plans to add the necessary support to your exterior load-bearing walls and a general contractor to make the changes to the framing around the new wall opening. This will cost an average of $3,000. After that work is done, a window installer can set the new bay window in place.

Yes, you can always make an existing window bigger, but the job complexity varies widely depending on the location of the window and the framing around it. Exterior walls are always load-bearing, so making windows wider will require structural changes that make for a more complex but doable project. Making windows taller often won’t require structural changes.
