"Myself and 2 neighbors all wanted fences installed.  We obtained quotes from five fencing companies and asked all of them to provide pricing for each home as well as a discounted price if they were awarded all three jobs as the same time.  We were impressed with the quality of the fencing and gate hardware Metro offered and they provided a very competitive pricing for all three jobs.  The installation crew arrived and completed fencing for all three houses in one day.  There had been a change in the gate hardware that Metro uses between the time of the first presentation and when the installation was completed but Metro made this right.  I would recommend Metro Fence - excellent quality at good pricing and timely installation

It does matter which way a hinge is installed because it’s possible to install a hinge backward. The hinge pin should face the direction in which the door will swing, making the pin visible. Exterior doors that swing outward need a security hinge with an Allen set screw in the center to prevent someone from removing the hinge from the outside and accessing the home or business.

In most cases, you will need a permit to install a new driveway or property gate. An exception might be if you are simply replacing an existing gate. Double gates come with the same gaps as single gates, with hinges taking up a quarter of an inch of space. The difference is that double fence gates also have a center gap, which needs a little more clearance. Space the center gap at half an inch instead of the usual three-eighths of an inch for a single gate. 

Generally, the standard 10- to 12-inch-long and 1- to 1.5-inch-diameter gate springs will work. However, if you have an especially wide, thick, or heavy garden gate, you may need to opt for a longer, broader—and pricier—model to ensure secure closure and good longevity. These typically range between 12 and 16 inches long and are over 1.5 inches in diameter.

Your gate should be 3/4 to an inch smaller than the opening. The opening size that you need for your gate can vary depending on your hinge type. You may also need to add reinforcing braces if the gap between your gate and the fence is not uniform from top to bottom.
