"Called metro fence to replace an old wooden picket fence with a 6 foot vinyl coated chain link. Day of install the sub-contracted it out to a Gulf to Bay a fence. Called for service since Irma dropped a branch on the top rail. Kalee answered and not the nicest person to speak with since she kept you on speaker phone the whole time. She told me there is a $500 minimum charge for the truck to come out. Had I known their customer service was this bad I would have used another company. Calling the sub contractors out now to repair. Steer clear of their B.S. call Gulf to Bay Fence instead. Glad none of my neighbors went with Metro Fence. Will not recommend them to my worst enemy. So much for Angie's list and their B.S. A review rating for them."

Driveway Gates questions, answered by experts

Your gate should be 3/4 to an inch smaller than the opening. The opening size that you need for your gate can vary depending on your hinge type. You may also need to add reinforcing braces if the gap between your gate and the fence is not uniform from top to bottom.

Depending on your needs and wants, investing in a security door can be well worth the cost. Now that you know the pros and cons, you can decide if it’s a purchase that makes sense for your family. If you’re ready to have one installed in your home, look into security door installers in your area.

A sliding gate, or a sliding gate door, is a versatile gate system used for various applications. Sliding gate mechanisms allow the gate to move horizontally along a track or guide system when opened or closed. They come in multiple types, including sliding folding gates, telescopic gates, cantilever gates, and track sliding gates. These gates are known for their durability, ease of installation, and user-friendly operation, making them popular for property access and security.

Screen doors (sometimes called barrier doors) and security doors serve different primary functions. A screen door's main purpose is to allow airflow and keep pests out, featuring a lightweight frame and a mesh screen. A security door, however, is a heavy-duty structure designed to prevent unauthorized entry. Security doors are installed with permanent screws into the home's walls and are often equipped with deadbolts or other heavy-duty locking mechanisms for enhanced protection against intruders.

While many gate hinges are often made of extremely durable materials, such as galvanized steel, they can wear out after many years. How quickly they wear out also depends on how much use they’ve endured. It’s also possible for the hinge screws to fall out, which weakens the hinge. Once a hinge wears out, it’s time for a replacement so your gate doesn’t start sagging.
