"I initially contacted Scott McLaughlin because we had a tenant call about a failed stucco windowsill and a leak. Sort came and identified several areas on the hose that needed stucco repair or replacement. We had his crew do the repairs and paint the entire house. Loved the work so much that we asked him to come out and look at a stucco repair issue at our personal home. One again, Scott and his guys did an excellent job of fixing our stucco, and since it was time for new paint on our house we had him paint our home in a new color scheme, which we absolutely love. Would recommend them to anyone needing stucco work or house painting. Highly knowledgeable about not just how to get stucco right, but also why the stucco failed in the first place."

"Ryan Dush and team are professional from start to finish. I could not be home for the estimate or the work, but had full confidence in the knowledge, ethics, and results of Ryan and his team. They are now my first phone call for stucco, paint or related repairs. Not only will I work with them again, but I have already referred Bay to Bay to two friends. Bay to Bay is a well-oiled machine."

"We had our siding and two windows replaced by Suncoast this spring (05/2024.) They did a wonderful job and we are very satisfied with every aspect of the work that was done. The staff was very professional and Suncoasts bid was the most competitive of the 3 proposals we received. I would highly recommend them."

Stucco questions, answered by experts

Costs range from $500 to $2,000, depending on the damage size and texture matching.

Well-maintained trim boosts aesthetic appeal and prevents costly future repairs.

The best exterior paint finish for stucco is a flat or low-gloss finish. A high-gloss finish will show imperfections in the stucco and give it a candy-coated look that many homeowners don’t like. The best types of exterior paint to use on stucco are acrylic, masonry, and elastomeric. However, acrylic is recommended because it is both durable and breathable.

One of the most significant downsides to stucco is the installation cost, which is higher than that of many other siding options because getting it to look clean and professional is a labor-intensive process. Stucco can also absorb water, making it an unsuitable option for siding in areas that see excessive rainfall. Finally, stucco can crack and chip, especially in extreme weather, and repairs are not only challenging and require help from a professional who does stucco, but can get expensive.

To maintain stucco, inspect it annually for cracks and clean the surface with a mild detergent. Seal any cracks promptly to prevent water infiltration, and reseal or repaint as needed to preserve its appearance.
