"I hate being condescended to. Listen to what I want and then give suggestions on how I might be able to work that out in my kitchen. Don't just tell me it can't be done. I felt like I was wasting my time. I asked about a particular type of closet (not realizing it was part of a bigger cabinet...how would I know) and she told me to follow her (using her finger to me like a child) and said I couldn't have it because it was as part of a bigger piece. She could have just said that. I said if I can't make my kitchen more "usable" (less wasted space), WHY to with custom cabinets. I could just reface. The woman behind me who was waiting to ask her a question said. Listen, if you can't get what you want, I don't blame you for not spending the money. It's easy to reface. So, I called another company and, low and behold, I'm getting partial refacing and partial custom cabinets. He came and we discussed HOW I could get my carousel cabinet (uh - he suggested I go from a double to a single sink - easy peasy) AND, he came in at half the price your website suggested I might pay. It is really nice to be listened to...especially when it's MY money I'm spending."

"Overall installation went really well. Karl constantly shows ingenuity on any project he works on. He seems to be able to look at a picture and easily re-create it. For example: I handed him 2 newel posts a 8 foot piece of base molding, an 8 foot 5" wide piece of MDF, some bead board, a side panel and a base kitchen cabinet... and he built a beautiful kitchen island. Bottom line- you give him the materials and the idea and he will bring it to life. On top of everything else, Karl is sincere, honest and shows up as promised. He is definitely the exception among your usual lot of South Florida contractors.

"James Durrance and his workers did an outstanding job on my kitchen remodel. They refinished all the existing cabinets (natural wood changed to crisp white), replaced countertops with granite, replaced sink, faucet, backsplash, under-cabinet lighting, and added crown molding. The workers were on time and worked quickly with little supervision needed. The price quotes were reasonable, and the total remodel was half the cost of completely replacing all cabinets. The time estimate of 3 weeks was spot on, with the exception of a 1-week span of time when work stopped due to a family illness. Communication with James was always a prompt response whenever I had a question. Work was started the same week we signed the contract. The workers were trustworthy to the point where there were several times we could not be in the house when they were scheduled to be there, but I felt comfortable enough just leaving a side door open for them to come and go. The work area was always left very clean at the end of their workday. All in all, this was the best contractor/builder experience I have ever had and would highly recommend James and Finish First Cabinetry, Inc. I'll be calling them next year to redo 2 bathrooms!"
