"I called on a Friday about a clogged toilet which we have had issues that seemed never ending from one toilet to next in both men and women’s stalls at our bar. Someone was out to us within a few hours and was able to find the issue with not only the one toilet, but what had been causing the ongoing problem for us, within an hour. The guy Nick that came out, explained it to us in a professional but simple way for us to understand and showed up prepared to work on spot!! I would love to say I’ll be calling them again, but the way our toilets are working, I’m not sure I’ll need to be calling again anytime soon😊 unless someone really does a number on one of the toilets! Highly recommended, great communication and the time efficiency blew me away, I have a hard time these days getting people to show up just for estimates on projects within a week let alone showing up day of call ready to work!"

"All of our bathtubs and toilets would not go down in the house. Lyons and cubs plumbing came out quickly and was able to find and fix the issue the same day. They also did a camera inspection and located the problem which was a giant root from a tree in our yard had broken the pipe. They were able to show me the root with their camera and locate the exact spot to cut out and fix. They were able to dig and fix the spot that day for a reasonable price! Definitely recommend them for any plumbing issues you have!"

"For something simple to do. Very expensive. I bought the kitchen sink faucet to be installed. They checked the gooseneck in the kitchen. I had a bathroom toilet sprayer and they installed it. $401 for a small job."

Toilets questions, answered by experts

Whether or not a power-flush toilet is worth it depends on your toilet needs and your budget. If your bathroom sees a lot of use or you’re concerned about the toilet clogging, then a power-flush toilet may be the right choice. You should also check the pressure requirements to make sure your system can handle the necessary requirements.

No, your toilet tank should not empty completely when you flush. Although the water level will dip a lot after you flush, it shouldn’t be totally empty. If your tank is empty, you might have issues with your fill valve, float ball, or toilet trip lever. You should check all of your toilet parts to ensure they’re working correctly and make any necessary adjustments.

There are several ways to save money on a bathroom remodel through proper planning and savvy design strategies. To reduce costs, consider the following:

  • Purchase your own materials: Buy your own bathroom fixtures, hardware, and other materials to avoid contractor upcharges and delivery fees.

  • Shop smart for big-ticket items: Save on pricey items like tiles and tubs by shopping sales and at discount stores.

  • Avoid major layout changes: Keep plumbing in its current location. Opt to replace fixtures rather than moving them to avoid significant renovation work.

  • Focus on high-impact, low-cost updates: Make affordable but impactful smaller changes, such as upgrading hardware, installing new lighting, and adding stylish but economical accessories.

  • DIY where possible: Handle easier parts of the remodel yourself, like painting or installing light fixtures, to save on labor costs.

  • Time your remodel strategically: Consider remodeling in the spring, which tends to be a lower-demand time of year and may result in lower costs.

Yes, you should screw your flange to the subfloor, including cement. The best way to get this done is to predrill holes into the concrete using a hammer drill and a ¼-inch concrete bit. Be careful when you’re ready to bolt your flange down, as you can accidentally crack it. You can avoid this issue by not installing the screws too deep. Or, you can opt for a flange with a stainless steel ring so you don’t have to worry about cracking the plastic.

The first step to clearing the air in a line is to locate the cause. This is usually a blockage in either the drain or the venting system. Once you clear the issue, flush the system by actually flushing the toilets repeatedly. This should allow the trapped air to escape, thus clearing the lines. Don’t be surprised if there is increased bubbling as the air makes its way through the system.
