"I have been using Active Lawn Care & Landscaping Inc for about 4 months now. Management team is always very responsive and helpful working with my schedule. I have all my lawn and fertilizer service done by Active and have been pleased with the service, any issues I have encountered were corrected in a timely manner. Recently used the irrigation repair service, the price was fair and the service as always was outstanding."

"Ryan’s Landscaping did an amazing job on my recent home improvement project! There are so many landscaping companies to choose from, but the difference and competitive advantage that Tanner offered and why I chose them was personalized service tailored to my homeowner goals, a high degree of communication to understand my needs, and their true commitment to overall job and customer satisfaction."

Small jobs welcome

"Mr Harmon was very honest, very thorough, and relatively average in his labor charges. He is punctual, dependable and straight forward.. Comparing his total price with other landscapers, he was near the cheapest, but high in work quality."

"A story to tell. Last week I tried and tried to contract Landscapers to sod a small portion of my yard and would take about one-half a pallet. The job was too small, didn’t have the time, they didn’t have the sod and if they did, I’d have to pick it up. That was until I contacted Divine Greenery [1-407-929-8262]. I spoke to a gentleman named Don and explained my situation. He advised ‘No Problem” we discussed a price which included installation. He advised he was picking up sod for other jobs on Monday November the 27th and would call back for a time for the installation. He called me on the November28th and advised delivery and installation would be on November the 29th. The crew that came out were very personable and polite; and confident enough to finish the job within approximately an hour. I would suggest anyone needing this type of work to call Don at Divine Greenery, you won’t be disappointed."

"The project came out very good. We had a steep sloping pitch off of our screened in patio with over a foot drop. So a retention wall was built to level off the large step. The pavers came out very nice and really leveled out the space to fix the safety issue and make the space usable."

Landscaping questions, answered by experts

If you live in an area with heavy rain or you like the idea of an extra layer of cushion under your feet, you may want to consider adding additional layers under your grass. There are pads that are purely for comfort and ones that can help accelerate drainage for those heavy rains.

Professional lakefront landscaping addresses environmental factors such as water level fluctuations, erosion control, and native plant suitability. Regular maintenance includes pruning, fertilization, and ensuring drainage systems function well.

While you can leave roots in the ground, if you don’t want the shrub to regrow again over time, it’s best not to leave any roots behind. Ensure you remove as much of the shrub as possible, including the root ball and any main roots you can see, to prevent new growth. Some gardeners opt for using a chemical treatment to prevent the stump from growing back, but this can kill beneficial microorganisms living in your soil.

You should avoid planting grass, shrubs, plants, and trees in freezing temperatures, as the ground can get frozen and become too hard for proper root growth. It’s best to plant in the fall to allow your plants to establish root systems before the first frost. Landscaping when the average temperature in your area is between 50 and 60 degrees will usually deliver the best results.

Monkey grass makes a beautiful, low-maintenance ground cover, particularly in shadier areas where other grasses don’t receive enough sunlight to grow. It’s also excellent for edging walkways, bordering flower beds, and accenting rock gardens. You can grow it as a container plant, as well, which is a perfect solution for those who love its foliage but want to contain the spread.
