The city came to us with 3 major issues having to do with flood planes, surface water and existing structures. The requirements they were throwing at us would have absolutely killed our project. "I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY... I called Dragon Plumbing to diagnose my hot water heater. I was told that it was a $125.00 diagnostic fee and that if repair work was completed, the diagnostic fee would not be applied and I would only be charged for the work being done at the time. This is standard practice in the industry and I understood this going into the appointment. The technician, Adrian, was late to the appointment and it was after 5pm before he showed up. I was not at the house at the time, so he called me after being at the location for a while and said he reset the pilot light and was testing it to determine what was wrong. I asked him if he was going to be able to give me an estimate and he said he was not sure. He called me back about 15 minutes later and said he finished and that he could not determine what was wrong at the time because the pilot stayed lit. I asked him for his recommendation and he said he would have to call the manufacturer. I asked him how we would handle the $125 fee if I have not been given an opportunity to have the unit serviced or repaired by his company. He told me I would have to talk to the office about that. The next morning I was told that the manufacturer recommended changing the burner and or thermocouple OR replacing the unit because of it's age. I asked the "office" if they could provide me with a written estimate and they provided me with three estimates; one for the thermocouple, one for the burner and thermocuple and one for replacing the entire unit. I called back and said I was considering having the thermocouple replaced and I asked if the $125.00 would be credited to the invoice if I had them complete the repair and they told me NO...I HAD TO MAKE THAT DECISION AT THE TIME OF THE INITIAL VISIT. I asked how it was possible for me to make that decision if they could not provide me with a full estimate at the time of the service call. They told me that because the manufacturer was closed that they could not get the recommended repair information. So bottom line, they would not take off the $125 if I had the work done by them. I then asked if the owner could call me to discuss. I was told he was on vacation and would call me when he got back. The owner, Neil Thomas never called me back to discuss this further. I then got an email/invoice from Shelly asking me to pay the $125 service call fee. The email said in part, "Please note invoice is for diagnostics only, we are unable to credit invoice as we do not recommend trying to repair heater at this point the heater would need to be replaced. Due to age of heater we will not take responsibility for heater not functioning properly if repair is attempted." I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY AS THEY DO NOT HONOR THEIR WORD AND HAVE A QUESTIONABLE DIAGNOSTIC POLICY. If you are going to have a policy that says the $125 fee will be credited or waived if the work is done at the time of the service, then you should have the means to provide an estimate and provide that service right then and there. I would have had him repair the unit right then and there. I never expected to the tech to consult with the manufacturer prior to giving an estimate. Also, since Adrian lit the pilot light, it has not gone out. The water heater is working fine and I don't believe that replacing the entire unit was called for in this situation. So I also do not trust their opinion as to unit needing replaced. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY..."

"Andy and A&R landscaping did a back yard remodel project for us. When we met for the first time, he made sure to listen to our needs and how we wanted to use the space. He made note of our budget, but was sure to tell us that his goal was to create a vision for the space and then we would work together to meet the budget. Sure enough, he came back with a great vision… a truly revolutionary idea for the space. Yes, it was over our budget, but as he promised, he showed us the possibility and was fully committed to working with us to do what we could do within our budget. We met in a good place and signed the contract. His primary team of workers have all been with him for a long time, it is truly a family type of business. He does use contractors for special needs (electric, etc), but all of those contractors have been with him a long time as well. Each of his team was simply great. They were kind, considerate, addressed our every concern and made simple adjustments on the fly as we looked at the progress. They cleaned the area every day… while it was obviously under construction, they left everything outside the fence incredibly clean and tidy. Even my neighbors noted how pleasant and courteous the team was. Since the original installation, we have had a few problems with faulty irrigation parts. Andy and his team have been quick to respond and fixed to our satisfaction. The end result was a transformed back yard living area. We did not do everything in the vision that Andy provided, but we got the majority of it and always have the infrastructure to do more. We will definitely use A&R for our pending front yard remodel. Simply stated… Andy thrives on creating great living spaces and beautiful landscaping, he understands how to work within the customers means, and his team goes above and beyond to deliver in the way you would want someone working on your home. I cannot give a higher recommendation for A&R Landscaping."
