Small jobs welcome

"Used advanced painting LI for 2 bedrooms to be painted. Also had them renovate, sand and stain my back deck (3 years later the deck still looks like the day they did it) . Great work, very professional, would definitely recommend 👍"

"Painter1 did an outstanding job painting the first floor of my home. They showed up on time and was very professional and curtious from start to finish! They were very careful to protect floors and furnishings by covering everything up! A complete and total transformation of the first floor! I can't recommend them enough! Great job! Thanks!"

Customers say: Quick response

"After seeing so many positive reviews for Johnny and Carina's work, we had to call them to help paint our lanai. What an outstanding, professional job which was done by Johnny. He painted both the walls and ceiling a pretty dandelion yellow. Within less than half a day, it was all painted. No mess was left behind. We asked Carina for her help on two wood pine and wicker seat bar stools. Carina sanded and painted the two chairs in the same dandelion yellow paint, and wow. They were better than new. Highly recommend both of Johnny and Carina."

Painting questions, answered by experts

Regular cleaning, touch-ups for small defects, and resealing or repainting every 2-3 years help to maintain a vibrant appearance and protection.

Generally, these steps are included in exterior house painting:

  • Prepping and protecting the areas not being painted

  • Scraping away loose paint

  • Cleaning off dirt, grease, and debris

  • Caulking gaps and openings

  • Priming with a quality paint primer

  • Painting the prepared areas, including trim and accents with chosen paint finish

  • Adding a second coat

  • Cleaning up the site and disposing of tape, plastic, and drop cloths

Rags used with oil-based stains are highly flammable and can spontaneously combust in the right conditions. To reduce the fire risk, throw them in a metal container after use and add rocks on top to secure them. Add an inch of water and seal the container. Take the rags in the container to a hazardous waste factory as soon as possible.

Yes, you can limewash surfaces other than brick. Plaster, stone, stucco, and concrete can all also be limewashed. Any porous surface that will absorb the wash is a good candidate for limewash, although it won’t help much with waterproofing. If you choose to limewash over paint, you’ll need to prep before applying it to avoid a powdery, chalky finish. Shiny surfaces like metal or glass can’t absorb limewash, so it’s not suited for these.

Yes, staining or sealing a cedar deck or fence is highly recommended to extend its lifespan, typically by five to 10 years. While cedar is naturally resistant to mold and mildew, it can still fall victim to moisture, sun exposure, and rot over time. Applying a treatment creates a protective shield that helps prevent splintering, fading, and decay, preserving the wood's strength and appearance. A combination stain and sealer often provides the best protection, as it soaks into the wood grain rather than just sitting on top. This offers superior defense against UV damage and rot and lasts longer than a sealer alone. To maintain the wood's natural look, consider using a near-translucent stain. You should plan to reapply the stain or sealer every two to three years.
