"Excellent service performed by Scott & his teammate. Moved along quickly but very efficient & professional. Both men were very personable & easy to talk with. All of the work was clearly explained & they answered all of questions to my satisfaction. The cost was reasonable & I will likely contact them again for quotes on larger jobs. It was a pleasure doing business with True Love."

"Ric and his team were great. Extremely professional and knew what they were doing. He mounted TVs for me ,fix my closet, took a door down, move furniture installed door locks, hung pictures, took measurements for my window blinds and fixed a couple things. I had a lot of work for him and he got it done fast and the job is done right. I definitely recommend his services."

"Called to see if they could come repair some shingles that had blown off in a wind storm. Was eager to book someone because of impending rain. The owner personally came the next day, fixed the shingles, and walked the entire roof looking for any additional damage that I might have missed. Prompt, quality, courteous service. Could not ask for anything more. You can bet that when my roof needs replacing, these are the first guys I am calling."

Caulking Services questions, answered by experts

While handypeople do not need to be licensed in many places, you should only hire insured pros for any home improvement work. Your handyperson should have active liability coverage that protects them and you in the case of an error or accident. Furthermore, if they have employees on your property, they should also have workers’ compensation insurance. If you hire an individual or a company that is not insured and they damage your property, have an accident while on the job, or become injured on your property without insurance, you can be held financially liable.

Tipping contractors, builders, or general contractors is not customary or expected. Unlike many service professions where tipping is built into the payment structure, construction professionals typically charge a full rate for their services. However, you may choose to tip a worker for exceptional service, such as if they go above and beyond, stay late to meet a deadline, or work on a holiday weekend. Before offering a tip, it's a good idea to ask about the company's policy, as some prohibit their employees from accepting gratuities. If you want to show your appreciation for a job well done without giving a cash tip, consider writing a positive online review or offering to serve as a reference for potential new customers.

Hiring a handyperson offers several benefits. They can save you time and hassle by completing tasks you may not have the time or experience to do yourself. A key advantage is ensuring the project is done correctly, which can prevent future issues and save money in the long run. For projects that pose safety risks, hiring an experienced professional is a much safer option. Additionally, handypeople are often more available for smaller jobs that larger contractors may not have the schedule for.

A contractor specializes in a specific field. They often operate in teams where they have subcontractors to handle specialized problems. So if you have significant plumbing, drywall, or roofing issues, you’ll want to hire a contractor, as the job may require a team.

A handyperson is typically one person who works on whatever jobs come their way. You wouldn’t call a contractor to fix the hinges on cabinets or paint your room. Instead, a handyperson can handle all these issues, saving you from making multiple phone calls.

Most professional appliance removal companies will not expect a tip, but offering one is a good way to show appreciation for a job well done. A tip of 10% to 20% is a good idea if your professionals are working in the rain or snow, if they take extra care not to damage your walls and furniture in the removal process, or if they need to maneuver the appliance through tight spaces or up or down stairs to get it out of your home.
