"Julio is the most professional person I’ve worked with in 15 years! Honest, hard working, exceptionally skilled and willing to sacrifice to get your job done ASAP. Could not ask for, nor imagine a better person to work with. He installed a pocket door and it’s perfect. Left perfect amount of space for the surrounding drywall, and perfected all of the framing around the door. Perfect!!"

"WindowWall replaced four windows and a door in our historic 96 year old house. A big project, petrified wood, long hard day for the installers. We were very impressed with their work and the professionalism of all employees and reps who came at the announced time they told us tehy would be here. We were so impressed with the price, workmanship and competence of everyone that we ordered three more windows. We highly recommend them."

"They worked hard and paid attention to detail to make our project look like it had been built at the same time our home was constructed. Even though it took more time to complete than expected, the end result was worth the wait. My wife is extremely happy with her new sewing room. We had several contractors bid our job and most had made changes to the details, which we were adamant about. Scott and Danielle stayed on tract start to finish. A project they can be project they can be proud of just as we are."

Window Door Contractors questions, answered by experts

Screen repair is always worthwhile, as tears and holes in your windows and door screens are unsightly and allow pests and debris into your home, rendering the screen useless. The faster you repair your screens, the faster you can open your windows and doors freely to let the fresh air in. Consider repairing multiple door and window screens during one appointment with a screen repair technician to make the investment and labor costs worth it.

Window screens can help keep some heat out of your home, which is one benefit of using them in summer. It’s also the reason experts suggest removing your screens in winter—so it’s easier for the sun’s warmth to filter into your home. This will keep you cozier and potentially reduce your heating bills.

Most window screens in residential homes are designed to be removed from the inside, especially with double-hung, single-hung, and casement styles. That said, some setups require exterior removal. Older homes or custom installs may have exterior clips or brackets, and sunscreens are almost always mounted on the outside. Before removing your window screen, look at how it is held in place.

Installing a basement window generally takes a few hours, assuming there are no structural issues you need to resolve first. If you’re a novice DIYer, the project could take longer; on the flip side, a licensed and trained window contractor may be able to replace multiple basement windows in the time it takes a homeowner to replace one.

While sometimes used interchangeably, screen doors and storm doors have key differences. Screen doors are simple structures, typically composed of just a frame and a screen, designed to keep out bugs while allowing air circulation. In contrast, storm doors are heavier and more complex, built to protect your home's main entry door from weather and intruders. They usually feature an aluminum frame with interchangeable tempered glass and screen panels, allowing you to switch between ventilation and insulation. A storm door offers more protection and versatility but generally costs more than a basic screen door.
