"This was a big project. We have 3 - 10'x 8' sliding patio doors, the doors are extremely heavy. All required new sliding hardware, and one set of doors was frozen in place. We had a set of tracks that was severely twisted and bent. Tal assessed the project and brought in his crew to help with the removal of the panels. The process took a full day. In the end each door had been rebuilt, and all work beautifully. Thanks, Tal for a job well done."

Small jobs welcome

"Michael's work is excellent. He fixed two large windows in my sunroom. I thought it would cost hundreds of dollars but he fixed them very quickly and at a reasonble price. While he was here he looked at my garage door. I was given a quote from a garage door professional of $970 to repair it. The door had dents in it and they needed to be pounded out. The professional door man's quote was to realign the door but he said the dents would still be there. It seemed a new $4000 door was the only thing that would that would not have dents. Michael looked at the door and asked if he could try to fix it. He pounded out the dents and realigned the door in a matter of minutes. I was so happy! Michael saved me a great deal of money. Michael is not just a handyman but a true professional. I highly recommend his work and his professionalism."

Window Door Contractors questions, answered by experts

Among the various entry points into your residence, it's crucial to recognize that your basement windows are arguably the most susceptible. Basements usually have windows facing the side and back yards, often concealed from driveway floodlights, porch lighting, and doorbell cameras. Their vulnerability underscores the importance of reinforcing basement window security to safeguard your home from break-ins.

Yes, you can replace the screen without removing the door in most cases depending on the frame holding the screen. Doors with removable spline and screen frames make it a snap to replace the mesh while the door remains in place. The best part is that it’s a simple DIY project requiring a few tools in addition to the screen material.

Yes, you can add a screen door to most door frames. The screen should be able to fit standard-size door frames, so unless you have an unusually sized door, you shouldn’t have an issue. Just make sure to properly measure the frame. When in doubt, it’s best to let a pro take care of this task for you so it’s installed correctly.

The average cost to screen-in your patio ranges from $2,000 to $4,000. How much you spend depends on the size of your patio, the materials used, and construction complexity. Some patio screen room kits are easy to DIY, but you may need to hire a local screened-in porch builder and obtain permits for more complex designs.

The most affordable way to screen in a porch is to add a base track system to an existing wooden frame. The whole process should cost around $2,000 for supplies, depending on the size of your porch. It’s much pricier to build a screened-in porch or sunroom from scratch—and you’ll probably need to hire a contractor for a project like that.
