"I had a badly cracked and uneven driveway and a sidewalk that had fallen out of level and was allowing water to drain under the house. Got a bid from Sturdy Soil after a 15 minute inspection. I had another company come out to offer a bid. The other company was a national company with company car all covered with stickers while Sturdy Soil was local. The national company with a salesman who hung around for a couple hours finding a bunch of things that needed done and cost a ridiculous amount. Sturdy Soil doesnt have corporate offices, corporate salesman and got on the job within a couple days and finished quickly. I was amazed by the difference and saved thousands of dollars. Nice , local people and honest price. Thank you guys! Best Father -Son team in Englewood."

"My experience with Perkins Concrete, from the initial estimate to the final inspection, was very positive. I received 4 estimates to replace the cracked, pitted, sunken concrete floor in my 97-year-old detached garage. Warren Perkins was the only contractor who addressed protecting the building's foundation. Both Warren and his crew were very professional. They arrived on time, and everything went as scheduled. My garage was not a big job, only 400 square feet, yet Warren communicated throughout the process. There were no surprises. As I hoped, the floor sloped very slightly downward to the outside. Also, as requested, the final floor was very smooth and ready for polishing/sealing. See before and after pics for comparison. They were very neat and cleaned up after themselves. Unlike other fence types that require you to set posts in concrete or foam, you only need the dirt you took from the post hole for split rail fencing. Split rail fencing is initially a budget-friendly option. However, it’s not as long-lasting as other fence types, meaning you could pay more on the back end because you may need to replace fence posts or rails that come loose or rot.

Compared to a 10x20 concrete driveway costing between $800 and $3,000, a resin bound driveway of the same size costing $3,900 to $4,000 is the more expensive option. However, the cost still makes resin a cheaper option compared to a 10x20 paver driveway costing an average of $12,000.

Gravel driveways are the most economical driveway material, followed pretty closely by asphalt and concrete. At about $1 to $3 per square foot, gravel is about a third of the cost of either of the more common alternatives. But, not everyone likes the look and feel of the material and may opt to pay more for something that looks better.

You can technically install a chain link fence without any concrete. However, your fence will be less stable and more likely to shift or lean over time. 

Instead, try setting the terminal, gate, and corner posts with concrete and filling the line post holes with dirt. You’ll build a stable foundation without spending all afternoon mixing concrete.

You should have at least 4 to 6 inches of compactable base under your concrete slab. Your contractor may recommend more depending on the structure.
