"Precise Home Inspections helped my husband and I properly identify the mold in our home. For months we were suffering from allergies, and were unaware of the cause. It was not until someone referred me to PHIS for an Indoor Air Quality Testing, that we discovered the source of our problem. They were highly recommend to us and after the quick and easy appointment made, the fantastic service and turn around, we will continue to recommend them. The entire Precise team gets 5 stars!"

"They did a great job and found many issues with home.  Of course the seller and their realtor doubted the validity and cost estimates provided by the inspectors (who are not licensed electricians or plumbers) but I later had a plumber and an electrician inspect the house and they both confirmed the home inspectors were correct regarding the issues they reported and the price estimates provided.  The price was a little high but they sent 3 guys out and they were there for a few hours.  The report included many photos.

Radon Detection and Reduction questions, answered by experts

Use a radon test kit or hire professionals to conduct a detailed assessment of radon levels in your home.

Radon is a cancer-causing radioactive gas that poses serious health risks, infiltrating homes through foundation cracks and unnoticed spaces.

Options include sub-slab depressurization, crawlspace ventilation, and sealing cracks. Choose based on home construction and radon levels.

No, air purifiers are not an effective way to reduce or remove radon. Radon is a radioactive, inert gas that cannot be filtered by standard air purifiers, which are designed to capture particulates like dust and mold. While an air purifier can improve indoor air quality by removing other pollutants, it should not be relied upon for radon. The only effective solution for high radon levels is a dedicated radon mitigation system.

No level of radon is technically safe, but since it is present everywhere, complete avoidance is impossible. The average radon level in homes across the United States is 1.3 picocuries per liter (pCi/L). The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recommends taking preventative measures if your home's radon levels are between 2 and 4 pCi/L or higher.
