"We had a plumbing emergency after regular business hours when a toy got stuck deep in our bathtub drain. I called Mr. Rooter Plumbing of North Miami Beach, and to my surprise, technician Jose was at our home within an hour! He was incredibly professional, courteous, and took the time to explain everything before starting the job. Not only did he quickly clear the drain, but he also managed to rescue Chase from Paw Patrol—which made my son’s night! Having their main office so close to us in Bay Harbour is a huge plus. I highly recommend Mr. Rooter Plumbing of North Miami Beach to anyone in the area. Excellent service, especially when you need it most."

"I used to get water in my basement every time it rained. I had a sump pump installed and I still got water through the cracks. Seal pro Max was the perfect solution for me for fraction of the cost of other solutions. With all the snow and rain we’ve had this year I didn’t get a drop of water in my basement. The guys were very knowledgeable and professional and were able to finish the job in one day. I wish I knew about this years ago."

"We have been trying for the past 5 years to get a contractor to do a concrete slab with a permit for our back and side patio. After multiple estimates where we were told either that a permit was not required or that the job was too small, we were almost giving up until a friend recommended Angie's List. We got a few contractors names from the web site and finally narrowed it down to two. We really liked Mr. Danilo Leyva from American Stamp Concrete and decided t give him the job. He came across as honest, hard-working, knowledgeable and reliable. All of the above proved to be true not only for him but also fr his crew. The entire team is fantastic, they work well together, help each other and clean up at the end! The outcome was excellent. Working with Danilo was a pleasure, pulling the permit and scheduling the inspections was no big deal (as other contractors claimed), he always shows up when he says he will (very unusual in So Fla) and delivers what he promised. We highly recommend Danilo (American Stamp Concrete) not only for driveways but also for patios."

"They came out right away and explained what the issue was so we decided to take the package to have all lines cleaned. They work professionally and everything was working when they finished. They gave us warranty on the job and the plumber also cleaned up after he was done. I would highly recommend them a and I will continue to use them."

Foundation Drain Installation questions, answered by experts

Sump pumps remove excess water from the lowest point of your home, which prevents flooding. When a sump pit fills with water, a sump pump pushes that water outside of the basin and into an exterior discharge pipe. From there, the water flows away from your home, so it doesn’t damage your foundation.

The cost to install a new sump pump, including materials and professional labor, typically ranges from $1,000 to $3,000. The average cost is often cited between $1,200 and $2,500. Several factors influence the final price, including the type of pump, the complexity of the drainage system, and the installation location. For instance, installing a sump pump in a basement may cost around $1,200, while a more complex installation in a crawl space can cost an average of $3,900. It is important to hire a licensed professional for the installation to ensure quality work, which can impact the pump's lifespan and warranty. Note that these costs are for a new installation; replacing an existing unit is less expensive, typically costing $308 to $748.

There are dedicated sump pump pros in most areas who can install sump pumps. However, plumbers and waterproofing specialists should also have a good amount of experience with installing sump pumps. If you don’t have any dedicated specialists in your area, reach out to a basement waterproofing specialist or a plumber.

Basement toilets don’t always need a pump. However, it is the most common setup because plumbing systems use gravity to move waste away from the home. Basement toilets often sit below the home’s main sewage system, and installing a sewage ejector pump pushes the wastewater and sewage up to the main sewer line. Alternatively, you can use an upflush or macerator toilet that breaks down the waste and pushes it straight to the main sewer line rather than via a sewer line from the bathroom.

A small sump pump running infrequently uses an average of 10 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of electricity per month. The average cost for electricity is $0.171 per kWh. The size and use frequency affect how much electricity it uses. Sump pumps average one-third to one horsepower (hp) motors. One hp is equal to 745.7 watts. Watts multiplied by the time your pump is running divided by 1,000 equals your average kWh. Multiply kWh by your average cost of electricity. In areas with high rain or a marsh basin, the average cost can be as high as $15-$25 a month.
