"I originally reached out to A-Max a few months ago for routine preventative maintenance on our HVAC systems in our home. It was important to me to establish an ongoing relationship with a reputable firm as our previous service provider went out of business. I wanted a company that I could trust and rely upon for good service at a fair price. Based on the Angie's List reviews, I chose A-Max to perform the preventative maintenance. Nothing noteworthy occurred during this service call and I was satisfied that A-Max could be my "go to" AC service company. As it turned out I did need service about 2 weeks ago so I called A-Max. They came out and determined I needed a new thermostat. The technician replaced the thermostat for $195. Unfortunately I experienced another issue just a few days ago whereby the AC was not cooling at all and just blowing air. I called A-Max for service early in the morning and a technician came out later that afternoon. The issue was diagnosed as a faulty compressor. The technician verified with the local Reem distributor that the compressor (part only) had a 10 year warranty and the part would be covered under the manufacturers warranty (as I sighed with relief). Then I was told the "labor only" to replace the faulty compressor would be $850. Additionally. there would be refrigerant and "pick up" fees of $470 bringing the price to replace the warrantied compressor to $1320. That price seemed excessive so I challenged the technician on it and he called the office to obtain a reduced price of $1110. That price still seemed excessively high and simply did not feel right. I told the technician that I would let A-Max know of my decision. The next morning I called several other AC service providers with my HVAC unit model number and asked them for a quote on the labor and necessary refrigerant. Each one gave me an estimate quite a bit less than the A-Max quote. I selected one of the companies to do the job. The technician replaced the compressor and refrigerant in less than 3 hours. The price that I paid was less than half the A-Max quote. This experience left a bad taste in my mouth and I will not be calling A-Max again for service."

"Installed a 'ULTRA VIOLET LIGHT' above my A/C Filter to kill germs, was done Very Professionally with out creating a mess. Arrived on time and ready to do the work needed to get the job done.Cost was Very Reasonable, cleaned and put all things back where they belonged. when asked questions answered in a way that anyone could understand. Will use him always for any Electrical Work at home or Business."

"They came to the house 30 minutes after calling about a broken air-conditioner. This was about 7:00 in the evening. He was able to find the problem and repair it in approximately an hour. "Jim is local.  It went great. Jim Ferrell is a professional of the highest caliber. Responded quickly, took care of my problems, and advised me as to better means of protection than I had. He came back a second time to uninstall software that I purchased that did not provide adequate protections and installed free software that would do the job.  He did the work through remote connection, but is available on site if necessary.
For those people needing help on getting red of malware, viruses , etc. on your computer,  Jim is local, better than all thse remote out of state location providers, is a mature, highly trained professional in this area.
If you go to local computer stores you get very young people that can do a basic job, but are no where near the professional level of Jim.
I highly recommend Jim to anyone that needs these type services.

Seth is very professional. He arrived on-schedule and proceeded to delineate the services I had requested. I had bought a wall mount for the TV -- unfortunately the mount, while advertised as "universal", did not fit the TV. Fortunately, Seth had a wall mount in his car and we were able to use it.  Seth worked with my son (in whose room the TV was to be mounted) as to the best location for the TV. He then worked with him as to setting up the Xbox and its features.   He then proceeded to connect a soundbar to a different TV and "synchronized" the various remotes.

Seth is an expert at connecting the various electronic components that make up today's A/V systems. And just as important -- he is very dog friendly. We have 4 dogs that normally have to be put in a separate room when we have service/repair techs in. Did not have to do that with Seth. We strongly recommend him for all your A/V needs.
