"Eddie did a fantastic job installing all new floors throughout our house. The first floor is on slab, so we went with engineered hardwood (by Somerset) in all bedrooms and living spaces and tile (from Daltile) in the kitchen and foyer. Eddie also redid our stairs. He was professional and easy to work with — very accommodating. We are thrilled with the result!"

"Andres and Angel were super responsive, courteous and professional. Their work crews were punctual, polite, worked non-stop and cleaned up at the end each day. "Outstanding Bathroom remodel ! Reliable, courteous and professional. Richard and his crew took over this project once my bathroom remodel was ready for the tile installation phase. I wish I had found him earlier. Initially I thought I would need to hire more people to complete my bathroom, but with Richard's expertise I didn't need to hire anyone else, he completed the entire job and it came out Beautiful ! I am really grateful I found them and could not ask for a better experience. I will make sure to hire them for my next project."

Ceramic Tile questions, answered by experts

Your tiles will have a significant visual impact on your bathroom, so you’ll want to make a thoughtful decision. Once you land on the tile material that suits your needs and budget, you can consider the color schemes you want. Consider whether you want something modern, classic, or eye-catching.

You have creative freedom when it comes to your tile trim. If, however, you are considering skipping tile trim, please think twice about that. It is good practice to install tile trim, whether on walls or flooring. Think, too, about the aesthetic you are going for and choose a trim type and color that will help enhance the space.

Ceramic tile can be slightly less expensive than porcelain pavers. You can find outdoor ceramic tile for as little as $1 per square foot, but high-end options tend to cost the same as porcelain.

The cost to install porcelain tile is about $1,930 on average. Porcelain tile prices range from $880 to $3,000 or more. The average cost tends to be higher than ceramic tile because porcelain tile is very durable. Porcelain tile rating also factors into the material cost. Tile ratings are as follows:

  • Grade 0: Walls only

  • Grade 1: Walls and light traffic floors

  • Grade 2: Rooms with light traffic, but not kitchens or hallways

  • Grade 3: Kitchens, hallways, and entryways

  • Grade 4: Any area, interior or exterior

  • Grade 5: Highest durability good for any area, interior or exterior

You can let the tile sit without grout. Don’t panic if there’s a delay between installing the tiles and grouting. A substantial stoppage isn't a problem, provided you keep the tile surface clear of dust and debris. Also, avoid walking over less stable ungrouted floor tiles as they are more prone to premature cracking and shifting.
