"Very well. Mr. Shifrin even came to our home on a weekend day to work on the washer, without charging an exorbitant fee. He did an excellent job pressure washing our metal roof. It is steeply pitched, and he worked safely, yet did a thorough job of it."

"Getting our new house painted was the first step into making it our home. Luke was very quick to respond when we reached out. We had a couple delays on our end and he was very accommodating. He got the work done in a timely manner. He takes directions very well, he’s professional, clean and on time. He made sure we were satisfied with everything throughout the process. I couldn’t be happier with the work that was done!"

"Outstanding work by Curtis!! He worked meticulously hard to ensure all areas were cleaned thoroughly. The house looked awesome when completed. He was personable, courteous, and respectful. I will recommend C & B pressure washing to all my family, friends, and acquaintances. In addition I will hire them next year to do it again."

"These guys seriously rock! They came out early, were very efficient, used quality materials, and built a gorgeous deck and fence! The were extremely careful about details and made sure the gate swung just as smooth as could be. Really solid, nice people who know their business well. "Sam and his crew came to help me after the previous painter made a mess of the job and got white paint all over my red brick walls and porch. They did an excellent job of cleaning up someone else's mess. Then set to work and did the job right. They are friendly, courteous, always on time, meticulous and efficient. They quote was fair and I would definitely be keeping him in my contact list as my preferred paint contractor. Thank you guys for a excellent job."

"The owner, Jamal, was amazing!!! He was professional, trust-worthy, and great customer service! He came on time and cleaned up each day before he left. It is the best paint job I ever had! And, instead of paying to install new cabinets from the late 80 s mauve-colored ones, he painted them white and they look brand new!!! I would not hesitate to hire him again or recommend his work."

Deck Cleaning questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can attach a deck to a mobile home, but it’s important that the work be done correctly to avoid the potential for major damage to your home. Many building codes require that any additions to mobile homes—including decks—be either freestanding or have their own support structures. Getting permits may require submitting the home's original floor plan, the proposed floor plan, framing details, and more.

Most building codes require that railing spindles (also known as balusters) on decks or stairs be spaced no more than four inches apart. This safety standard is often called the '4-inch sphere rule,' which means a sphere with a 4-inch diameter should not be able to pass through the opening between balusters. This rule is in place to prevent small children and pets from slipping through the railing. For the same reason, the space between the bottom rail and the deck or floor surface should also be no more than four inches. As a general guideline, professionals often install three balusters per foot of railing. However, since specific requirements can vary by location, it is essential to check your local building codes to ensure compliance before starting your project.

Your deck may pop, and your neighbor’s deck may not for a number of reasons. Whether or not a deck pops will depend on how it was made, the conditions it’s exposed to, and the materials. Improper spacing is a common reason for increased pressure between deck boards. Moisture penetration is another.

Ultimately, overapplication of stain can compromise the deck's appearance, durability, and longevity. It may result in an uneven finish, with excess stain pooling, dripping, or drying into thick patches. It can also obscure the wood's natural grain and texture, detracting from the desired aesthetic. Moreover, excessive staining may not fully penetrate the wood, leading to poor adhesion and premature wear. Additionally, thick layers of stain are prone to peeling, cracking, and blistering as they struggle to bond with the surface.

Yes, it is possible to build a small, basic deck for $5,000, particularly if you use less expensive materials and a simple design. To stay within this budget, consider a size under 10x12 feet and use affordable materials like pressure-treated wood or cedar. While the general cost for deck building ranges from $4,350 to $12,560, with an average around $8,200, some projects can be completed for as little as $4,350. You can also save on labor costs by doing the work yourself, but be aware that mistakes could end up costing more than hiring a professional. A contractor may have a higher upfront cost, but they can ensure a safe, stable deck that will last.
