"Kane was quick to respond when I called. We discussed what I needed done, I provided pictures I was given a very fair price unlike other quotes. The crew showed up on time ready to work. They are very clean cut and very conversational. My project SPARKLES and as a result 2 of my Neighbors were so impress they hired Kane on the spot. Thatâ s 3 satisfied customers. Kane Power Washing is already booked to clean next year. If you want reliable work with attention to details call Kane and you will be just as Satisfied."

"Very professional and responsive. Mike and Michael took the time to walk me through the process before the job started so I would know exactly what to expect. They showed up when they said they would and actually finished a little quicker than I thought. The work was great... What a difference! My house, walkways, and pool cage look incredible. And I really appreciated them taking extra time to soft wash the sensitive things (like asphalt, screens, and my roof) instead of just blasting away. When they cleaned up the debris from my gutters that fell on the ground, they blew out my garden beds, too. I didn't expect my yard to look better as well! I was worried about chemicals damaging my landscaping, but Mike took the time to protect everything and thoroughly rinse away all chemicals, too. Great customer service, great price, and great work! Hire these guys if you need pressure washing!"

Deck Cleaning questions, answered by experts

Rot loves moisture, so deck rot typically impacts the parts of a board that stay wet. This includes the underside of boards, in addition to support posts and joists. However, any part of a board can rot, given the right conditions.

Yes, it is generally safe to have a fire pit on a deck, but you must adhere to building codes and take several safety precautions. For both built-in and freestanding models, you must use a heat-resistant barrier, such as a fire pit pad or heat shield, between the pit and the deck. Additionally, consider the weight of the fire pit and ensure your deck can structurally support it, reinforcing it if necessary. The fire pit must also be positioned a safe distance from your house, particularly from materials like vinyl siding, to prevent heat damage.

Your deck may pop, and your neighbor’s deck may not for a number of reasons. Whether or not a deck pops will depend on how it was made, the conditions it’s exposed to, and the materials. Improper spacing is a common reason for increased pressure between deck boards. Moisture penetration is another.

Most building codes list a minimum width of 36 inches and a maximum height of 7¾ inches. However, for the most comfort and spaciousness, you’ll want to aim for a width of at least 48 inches and a height of 7 inches. Again, it’s always a good idea to base your numbers off steps that you already use comfortably.

You typically don’t need a railing and handrails on a deck that’s less than 30 inches from the ground. However, consider adding them regardless. Railings provide additional safety for you and your guests who use your deck—plus, railings give the deck a more finished look than it would have without them.
