"CAG Architects delivered exceptional professionalism, responsiveness, and technical expertise throughout our oceanfront luxury project. From early design discussions through complex coordination and revisions, their team demonstrated a deep understanding of both the creative and practical aspects required for high-end coastal development. What truly sets CAG apart is their collaborative approach. They took the time to understand our objectives, communicated clearly at every step, and handled changes thoughtfully and efficiently. Their ability to balance design excellence, constructability, and schedule considerations made a meaningful difference in keeping the project moving smoothly. We found CAG to be fair, transparent, and solution-oriented in all aspects of their work. "Vicki  met with us to discuss our objectives then produced several drawings for us to select from.  She recommended two hardscape contractors who we obtained quotes from.  Once we selected the contractor, she worked closely with him during installation.  She even came to the house when they were laying the stones to ensure that they were arranged exactly in the pattern she had designed.  It was a great experience, start to finish."

"its always stressful getting a big job done. Crew was polite and respectful. Sassan, the owner, came out after the job was completed (3 months later) and helped me fix a problem that turned out had nothing to do with his work or quality. Great service. Came out same day to help me. Thank you!!"

Our sustainable architectural services support clients that are moved by their physical and emotional surroundings and seek affordable and honest expressions of their needs. The design process seeks to push the envelope of enclosure using the tools of practical forces to create aesthetic solutions suitable for today and tomorrow's inhabitants. Each project seeks dynamic interaction with its surroundings while expressing the integrity of its construction and materials. Generally, we strive to create simple, well-articulated forms that have an enduring meaning with materials that provide lasting value and low maintenance. Each integrated, holistic design solution seeks to unify the design interests of the client to find the sweetness of life merged with their changing lifestyle.\n\n We explore together spatial alignments that benefit from established site views and provide designs that benefit from natural day lighting, natural ventilation, grid-tied solar energy, geothermal heating or cooling systems and reuse of stored grey water for site irrigation. In this context, each project compliments the surrounding community's built expressions and adapts to the technological advances that are leading our culture towards an electronically connected network of balanced living and working conditions for family growth.\n\nOn this Web site you will discover innovative designed homes of remarkable strength, economy, and beauty, brought to life by a distinct architecture combined with a source of pollution-free energy. Each built-in biosphere, in gradual but constant motion, draws energy from the sun, and /or geothermal stability from the ground, creating a temperate climate that supports the primary living spaces. These holistic design expressions below represent some of the project solutions for our clients.\n\n

Architects questions, answered by experts

Mid-century modern architecture was a popular home style throughout the U.S. from the 1950s to 1970s. Most homes feature a wide and symmetrical floor plan with low-sloped roofs and floor-to-ceiling windows. Its minimalism and balanced appearance are back on the home style scene, particularly when maximizing sunlight, airflow, and a blend with the home's natural surroundings.

Renaissance-style architecture predates Italianate architecture and serves as an inspiration for many elements of the Italianate style. Renaissance architecture adheres to the rules of classical architecture, while Italianate architecture adds elements that served to modernize the Renaissance style for the Victorian era and allow this style of home to be produced in a range of sizes to be attainable for various budgets.

The cost to draw house plans typically ranges from $800 to $2,700, with standard blueprints averaging around $1,800. For a custom home, the cost is higher, with blueprints often falling between $5,000 and $20,000, and potentially more for very complex designs. Several factors influence the total price, including the project's size, the number of rooms, the type of drawings required, and the architect's experience level. You may also need to pay a structural engineer to ensure building safety, particularly for custom homes.

When you think about Arts and Crafts-style homes, you probably think of a Craftsman house or a bungalow-style Craftsman. Craftsman is one of the major styles developed during the Arts and Crafts movement, but it checks most boxes. Craftsman houses have low-pitched roofs, exposed rafters, open floor plans, and stunning wood finish.

As with most large-scale home renovation projects, you’ll need an architect to map out the exact layout and specs of your above-garage room, which is required in many municipalities. Some general contractors will serve as your architect, or they may bring on a residential architect to assist with the plans.
