"Steve did a great job explaining the process and working with me to pick the color.  We discussed pricing and I thought the price was too high at first, but after getting my other estimates (which I had to beg other companies to call me back), they were right on target. The cost of materials have gone thru the roof (no punn intended.) but thats the fault of the times we live in.

The crew came on time and spent at least 12 hours a day to get the job done. They finised in 2 days as promised.

Also, the Owner (John) came over to look at the progress and to make sure everything was done to my satisfication.

The biggest seller for me, all of the John Keller's workers are their employees and not subcontracted.  They have Workmans Comp for all of them as well.   Note: If you subcontract and they don't get paid by the contractor you selected, they can put a lien on your house.  Also, if someone gets hurt on the job, some of those subcontractors don't carry workmans comp.  NO THANKS!

Thanks for the great work and professionalism guys.  I will recommend your company to my family and friends.

Subcontractors questions, answered by experts

How long it takes to build an in-law suite will vary by type. The time it takes to build an addition will typically be less than for completely new construction. Expect to spend about two months if you convert a basement, attic, or other existing room in your home. New structures can take up to five months, plus up to two months to receive the required permits.

There are several different steps in the pole barn building process. First, you’ll need construction plans, which you’ll use to obtain permits. Then, you can clear the land so it’s suitable for building and installing the foundation. Your contractor will frame the barn using large poles, then rough in the plumbing and electricity (if your barn has those elements) before finishing the interior, adding siding, and installing the roof.

After that, they’ll finish up the electrical work and plumbing and add your windows and doors. You may have a few other finishing jobs to do like painting or waterproofing.

When planning a general remodeling project, it's important to define the scope of work, understand your goals, and set a clear, detailed budget. You should also assess the current structure and consult with professionals like architects or contractors. Create a realistic timeline for each phase, obtain any necessary permits, and build in contingency plans for potential delays or unforeseen issues. Regular communication with all involved parties is crucial to streamline the process.

Depending on what the blueprints are for, a qualified draftsperson, contractor, or architect can draw them up. In some cases, including specialty permitting for a build, you may be required to use a licensed architect.

In many cases, a blueprint drawn up by a certified professional is required before a city or municipality approves a permit.

While concrete walls do not need to "breathe" in the traditional sense of the word, they do require waterproofing and dehumidifying methods, particularly in basements below the water table. Concrete both contains moisture from its initial installation and can absorb water when exposed. Ensuring proper basement ventilation , installing a vapor barrier, and controlling water exposure are all important tasks.
