1. They invited us in to choose the layout of the slab with the actual person who would be cutting it. This was an impressive step to insure that we liked what we had chosen, but also gave the cutter the opportunity to advise us on the best layouts for hiding the seams. 2. Installation day was quick. The gentlemen that installed the stone were exceedingly polite, and almost as excited as we were to see the transformation (Which is breathtaking.) They were also in and out of our mid-size kitchen in a little over three hours. 3. Tabitha was extremely quick and concise in her follow up. This was a breath of fresh air, and the only shop to do so in our remodel. Usually, I ended up chasing contractor-Not in this case. Very impressive. 4. Lauren gives exceptional design advice. She helped up pick the backsplash tile work-We would have never come up with something so lovely on our own. 5. The tile guys were kind, amazingly thorough, and CLEAN. In short, this was the BEST experience in remodel that we've ever had. Horror stories on other contractors, but I almost wish there was more that we needed from them, as their service was truly exceptional. I would recommend them highly, and have already done so to my neighbors. I had been planning to gut and rebuild our 1970-ish kitchen for several months, so I decided this was worth the risk. I did the layout myself and knew exactly what I wanted... in addition to the new cabinets and counters included in the deal, I wanted to have a window eliminated, a corner closet built, and two custom shelves installed. I was relieved that the job was acceptable and we agreed on a fair price. Originally I wasn't too enthusiastic about granite, but he had a sample that wasn't much more expensive than other countertops. I'm glad I decided on the granite, it looks great.
In most respects I got exactly what I wanted. The cabinets in particular are incredible: thick wood box drawers, nice finish on the doors. The installation was top-notch. I've built kitchens before and sometimes they seem to drag out for months. This was done start-to-finish in two weeks, achieved mostly through really careful scheduling so the plumbing, electric, cabinets and counters were all done right on the schedule. I'm a stickler for details. I appreciate the fact that everything came out plumb and level in a home that has no absolutely square corners or completely parallel walls. They compensated for the flaws extremely well, so it looks great. I was and am a bit concerned about the quality of the granite. It absorbed water very quickly so I sealed it myself with a good-quality commercial product. That made the absorption less obvious, but it's still not as liquid resistant as it should be. My biggest complaint about the job was the final price. After the work began he called me at my work and said it would be another $120 to move a water run to the interior space in the wall to prevent the need to cut the run into the cabinets. That was fine, as was the issue with a higher price for the shelves than anticipated. But the final bill was sticker-shock -- it was about $900 more than the agreed price. A lot of things on his final invoice should have been part of the agreement, and some I wasn't prepared for until I saw the final bill. Some extra charges were, frankly, stupid.... I had to pay extra to have holes drilled for the cabinets (a simple job with their equipment but would have been a real pain in the you-know-what for me and my little drill. And it would have cost even more if they had actually installed the hardware -- I did that part myself rather than go more over budget. There were a few odd jobs unfinished, like replacing the quarterround, and a few things that should have been done better (the sink is not set correctly, so there's a significant gap along one edge that I will fill with silicone myself when I get around to it.) Still, overall I'm happy, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to someone else."},"url":"https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/fl/altamonte-springs/altamonte-carpet-tile-and-kitchens-reviews-449688.htm"},"position":6},{"@type":"ListItem","item":{"@type":"LocalBusiness","name":"INSIGNIA STONE & TILE","address":{"@type":"PostalAddress","addressRegion":"FL","addressCountry":"US"},"review":{"@type":"Review","author":{"@type":"Person","name":"Deborah S."},"reviewBody":"My first phone call with Lara was indicative of the rest of the experience...she was great and genuinely excited about helping with our kitchen. She was always very prompt and when we went out to pick the granite out, she was wonderful! We went to 3 different places and as we looked, she provided her opinion as to color and quality of the various stones. She was very patient when we kept waffling back and forth and helped as much as she possibly could. We ended up tagging our granite at the last place we went and in the last row of granite! We stopped by the showroom once in between as they were having a sale of one of the corner choices which is the one we went with. From there, we needed to get the cabinets in order and installed. Once we were done, the countertops were measured by Mike and the countertops cut within 1 week. We asked to be called when they were taped out on the slabs, which we were and approved it at that time. They could not have cut these nicer, the entire kitchen flows as though the stone was one (which it sort of is but it is the way in which they cut it). The installation was flawless...the kitchen looks absolutely beautiful and they gave us very specific instructions as to the exact stone we purchased as it is a more porous stone. All in all, a great experience. Lara checked back with us once installation was complete, they provided us a few companies to shop for backsplash, one of which we used and we sent the finished photos to Lara. A phenomenal experience from start to finish. Bayron removed a small acrylic undermount sink, enlarged the hole in the existing granite top and installed a much larger stainless steel top mount sink. The job went quick, clean up was good, and the new sink looks great! We are thrilled! I would not hesitate to hire him for any granite work!
I would highly recommend them to anyone who is looking to install granite countertops. Their business "yard" is full of slabs of granite and you really have a great selection to chose from. The "cutter" was meticulous in his matching of veins that ran through the granite countertops and then...

Granite Countertop Companies questions, answered by experts
Granite countertops must be sealed every 12 to 18 months, though some sealants can last for five to 10 years. You can check whether your granite countertops need sealing by applying a drop of water in an inconspicuous area and waiting 15 minutes to see if the water darkens the countertop. If it does, the countertop needs sealing; if not, you can hold off on resealing for now.
No, quartz can’t withstand that type of extreme heat. Quartz is heat-resistant, but hot pans will damage the resin binder and cause discoloration. In severe cases, it could even crack the quartz. Always use trivets or hot pads to keep the surface safe from damage.
There are several countertop options available to fit your lifestyle and needs.
Granite countertops are durable and come in a variety of colors.
Soapstone countertops are prone to scratches and best in smaller kitchens.
Marble countertops are less durable than granite but a good option for busy kitchens.
Slate countertops are stain-resistant, making them easy to clean.
Limestone countertops must be sealed often to prevent scratches.
Acrylic countertops cost less than granite while still providing durability.
Laminate countertops are the most affordable but chip and fade faster.
Wood countertops need monthly sealing to maintain.
In most cases, a professional countertop installer will take between three and six hours to install your granite countertops. However, it may take two and four weeks to order and receive the materials to install, including time for measurements, checking that your cabinets can support the added weight, and delivery. If you choose a high-end slab of granite from a particular excavation site, you could wait for several months for delivery.
Engineered stone doesn’t need sealing because it is non-porous. The manufacturing process creates a natural stain resistant to moisture, which also makes it easy to clean.
