Excellent design and installation job by Top Notch Landscaping. They did a total makeover of my front yard landscaping and it looks fantastic. Work was done professionally, on-time, and at price quoted. I would recommend John Ross and his team to anyone looking for a top notch landscaping company.

John Ross and Top Notch Landscaping did a great job updating the plants and trees around my home. John's exceptional design ideas and knowledge of FL plants resulted in a lovely garden in front and new plantings in back. The crew arrived promptly and cleaned up well when finished. The job was completed efficiently and professionally. I highly recommend Top Notch.

This company did a large job for me, was put off for a short period of time but did the job and was great work initially. Once this company receives your money they take no reported problems within the guarantee agreement seriously. I had 23 of one specific plant installed in which they started to die off 2 months later. I was reimbursed for 5 of them but they just continued to die off leaving that area in the bed with a large space of nothing. I asked for someone to come and replant and fix the problem and was told they would do so. After about 3 months of phone calls, a couple emails unanswered and numerous phone calls and pics of the bed sent they finally showed up after giving me a continuous run around and never showing up when stated they would. The date I originally asked for someone to fix the problem was July 18 and went to October 15!! John likes to play "dumb" as well. After so long I was given his cell phone and dealt with him directly. I realized as I was not home when they installed the plants that they installed shriveled up dry/brown dying plants. I called John in disbelief and he denied that the plants are dying and stated I needed to water them. At this point I have been more patient than any other person would have been and I have asked the better business bureau to step in. I urge anyone to take this review very seriously and not to use this company, they charge top dollar but do not provide top dollar service. I have provided pics of the plants installed, you can clearly see all the healthy ones vs the dying ones.

Splendid. They were punctual and their president was there to answer questions and manage the work. I'm very satisfied with the results and recommend them. I will use this service again.

Some problems along the way, but John Ross, the owner made sure the job was finished to our satisfaction. The Landscape designer was very helpful. Pricing was very competitive and quality of plants and materials very good. We will use this company to finish off our re-landscape as we have not yet done our side yard. They did a beautiful job for our next door neighbor as well.

It went well

The value was good. The quality of work was very good. He designed a plan specifically for my yard and it turned out to be more than I thought I was going to get; I liked it more than I thought I would too. He was very creative and knowledgeable. He made it easy to dream and turn my dream into reality.

When pitching for the job, John was timely and very responsive. He came out with a colleague and after a visit or two and conversations with us, they produced a nice landscape plan. It was detailed and we liked it. The estimate was detailed down to the per item cost for all of the small shrubs. Labor was outlined separately for each group of tasks. We agreed and off they went. This was a big job. The quality of work was good when they came to do it. The team on the ground were nice, uniformed and they worked hard when they were here. On the big stuff - the tree removal and installation, it went very smoothly despite it being quite an operation.
The problem arose in actually getting them here. I had paid a hefty deposit and grew increasingly annoyed at their excuses for delays. Once they began the job their presence varied and it dragged on way longer than it should have.
The worst was the follow up. Top Notch offer a 6 month guarantee on what they plant as long as it is taken care of. We had many of the small plants die. We had four gardenias die. Repeated calls to their office got no result. In fact, despite all the calls to the office I have never heard from John again. He has one pleasant person working for him named Deanne (I think). She came out once and took photos of that which had died and promised to get back to me. She called once or twice to touch base but they never attempted to put things right or never again came to my house.
I will never recommend them or use them again.

As I mentioned John is a very pleasant man. We always had cordial conversations. However he does not show up when promised and I honestly feel there are much better landscapers out there. I will not recommend him ever again.

I thought that he was pretty easy to get along with, and he was knowledgeable. It did not take him long to install. I had trouble getting in touch with him but once he came the installation happened quickly. Getting him to come and getting everything ordered on time was bad.

top notch scheduled the appointment and showed up same day-scheduling was based on their having other work in area and prior to any storm showing up. i recommend being home to be sure workers know what is to be done but its not necessary to supervise the job just verify work prior to start

The four man crew arrived at 9 a.m. as promised; they stayed until the entire job was completed at 5 p.m. They were courteous and professional. John Ross, the owner, was on hand to manage and adjust the work as necessary. John presented a landscape plan that was within our budget, and, most importantly, he adjusted it as necessary to reflect our needs and wants. A professional guy and a solid company that I highly recommend.
