He knew what my budget was and his proposal was quite fair. His team were great however, there was a bit of a language barrier. The contractor's son was able to help through that. Some of the work had to be re-worked but overall I am happy with the work they did to repair my home. Jay's team were quick to respond to any punch list items after completion. "Dan is the definition of a professional contractor / handy man and I was very happy with the end result. I had a very unique situation where the previous owners of my condo had a huge 9 foot Murphy bed / cabinets custom installed and mounted on a living room wall. It was bolted to the wall in dozens of different places and was even glued to the wall in some areas as well. With it's huge size, the only way to get it through the front door was to take it down in pieces. However, Dan was up to the challenge and somehow managed to remove everything faster than I expected. Dan arrived exactly on time and came well prepared as he brought every tool imaginable, including a saw as he had to cut this huge wall mounted Murphy bed / shelves into pieces to get it through the front door. With decades of experience, Dan is clearly a seasoned professional and I was not surprised by his superior level of service given all the 5 start reviews I read on Angie's list before hiring him. He always quick to make recommendations and point out things I wasn't aware of throughout the entire process and he was very respectful about not damaging anything / cleaning up. On top of that, his price was incredibly reasonable for the level of services performed as it was priced very competitively compared to 2-3 other estimates I received. Unlike other contractors that simply "make up" a price for the "estimate", Dan charges by the hour, ensuring the arrangement is most fair for both sides. I only pay for the true # of hours it takes to complete the job and the contractor has more incentive to produce higher quality workmanship since he knows he's getting his full hourly rate. Bottom line, Dan showed up exactly when promised, he did exactly what we agreed upon and his fair pricing structure is simply unbeatable for the end result quality. I would highly recommend Dan to anyone looking for a reputable contractor as his proven track record on Angie's list is the result of hundreds of satisfied customers like myself.

"There were two 1950 bathrooms that we wanted to completely renovate. We started with another contractor that was awful and was terminated. We knew it would be difficult to find a contractor that would finish the other contractors work and correct their mistakes. Fernando graciously took on the task and, lucky for us, found many mistakes. He handled the obstacles quickly and tirelessly without complaint. The two bathrooms came out beautiful with large format ceramic tiles. We were so impressed with his work that we continued with other projects in the house including interior and exterior repainting, carpentry, and general repair of some messy areas that we were leaving for another day. He was present to review the work of his crew almost every day and his crews were friendly, respectful, and cleaned up after their work. His proposals were fair but at the upper range of the proposals we received. (I have found looking for the lowest price can lead to disaster). His invoicing was timely and detailed. The only drawback is his workers are Brazilian and some only speak Portuguese. This may lead to lead to communication issues at times. Learned to use Google translator and it is was very helpful with English to Portuguese."
