"Hired this company for paver repair. Kivo (the owner) gave me a very good price for the job and his crew did a wonderful job on my paver driveway! They also did a great job on the cleanup afterwards. A very professional company for sure and my husband and I would hire them again, for any services they offer."

"We moved into our new house which had been foreclosed for 12 months so the landscaping was in bad shape. We called a few different landscapers to give us estimates. When Dakota came out he came up with a design right then and there that we really liked and the price was very reasonable. He is extremely knowledgeable and is very professional. What he and his guys did blew me away. They spent 3 long days working on it and the results are even more amazing than we imagined. We have had so many compliments and our neighbors have already hired him to do work for them. I highly recommend Dakota and his guys for any landscaping job."

"Excellent!!! Paradise's Concrete performed with professionalism, and courtesy from the beginning of the project until it's completion. Joe Hammer is easy going and very knowledgeable about driveways. He works tirelessly and wants you to have a good experience. He responds quickly to his text messages or phone calls. Joe provides you details of the services to be performed by the company. My driveway was renovated under the direction of Mike Vigil, a skilled professional who worked along with his team for 2 days. Mike's gives attention to detail and he kept the project organized, and running smoothly. I highly recommend Paradise Concrete if you are considering a new driveway."

Asphalt Driveways questions, answered by experts

If you notice minor cosmetic problems with your driveway, you should seal it. Look out for cracks and holes on the surface, faded asphalt or concrete, and stains from oil and other chemicals. Replacing your driveway may be necessary if you’re dealing with significant problems—¼-inch cracks, large potholes, and puddles from drainage issues. The cost to install an asphalt driveway typically ranges between $4,200 and $9,000, significantly more than resealing. Consider talking to a professional to discuss whether resurfacing your driveway—a midway project between resealing and replacing—is a better option for you.

New asphalt typically needs 24 to 72 hours to dry before it can handle light foot traffic and careful driving. Although it may appear solid after a few days, the full curing process, where the asphalt reaches its peak strength, takes much longer—generally from 30 days to a year.

During this extended curing time, the surface remains relatively soft and can be damaged by heavy vehicles, sharp objects, or high temperatures. To protect your investment, it's best to avoid parking heavy machinery on the asphalt until it has fully cured.

The exact time required for drying and curing depends on several factors, including the weather, the specific asphalt mix, and its thickness. For the most accurate advice tailored to your situation, consult with your asphalt contractor.

While the specific timeline for building a driveway can vary based on driveway length and local weather conditions, the average concrete driveway can require several days to lay down all of the different parts of the driveway. The curing process may require you to avoid using your driveway for a week following construction. Heavier vehicles should be kept off of a new concrete driveway for several weeks. Building a gravel driveway may take just one to two days in total.

When asphalt cures, it typically changes from a very dark black hue to a lighter, more matte gray color. Cured asphalt also won’t be tacky or sticky to the touch or emit any odors from the asphalt mix. Additionally, the surface of fully cured asphalt won’t deform under any pressure.

The cost to pour a driveway apron depends on the material and size. Concrete costs $3 to $10 per square foot, asphalt ranges from $2 to $5, and pavers are $5 to $15 per square foot. Additional expenses, like excavation, base material, and labor, can increase the total cost. For example, a standard 12x15-foot concrete apron could cost between $540 and $1,800, depending on local rates and additional work required. Always consult a local driveway paving contractor to get an accurate estimate tailored to your project.
