"I hired John and Will to remove an old chain-link fence and build a classic dog-eared picket privacy fence. John was eager to get started and showed steady daily progress once the bid was accepted. He was responsive and addressed all my concerns along the way. Will, his right-hand man, brought creative solutions to the table, repurposing materials and applying clever engineering to save time and money. I’d hire them again for similar projects and would recommend them to others. Great value for the price."

"I went over the fence repairs with Alex Salazar, and he gave me a price for the work and materials of $500 cash. He arrived on time on Dec 14th and completed the repair, which took about 3 1/2 - 4 hours. I checked the work and complained that the gate he built was leaning. He came back on 12/18 and said that the fence post to which he had attached the gate was rotted at the bottom and would have to be replaced. I do not know why he did not notice this when he did the original repair?? Anyway, he said he will return tomorrow to replace the fence post to which the new gate is attached. This cost me an added fee, but he did show up on 12/24/21 and did the job, also installing a gate latch."

Fencing questions, answered by experts

In Crawfordville, the property’s soil type, drainage, and proximity to wetlands all influence fencing choices. Sandy soil requires deeper posts and concrete footings for stability, while areas prone to flooding benefit from elevated fencing materials. Coastal properties need corrosion-resistant options, and wooded lots should use pest-resistant fencing. Existing features like pools or septic systems also impact planning to ensure safety and compliance with local requirements.

Helpful?

Professionals in Crawfordville first assess wind and hurricane resistance, since storms are frequent. They then address drainage and soil stability, as heavy rains can affect fence longevity. Pest prevention is also a priority due to local termite risks. Verifying property lines is crucial, especially near wetlands. Scheduling is often planned around the rainy season to ensure materials set properly and your fencing investment lasts.

Helpful?

In Crawfordville, FL, vinyl fencing is popular for its resistance to humidity and sun exposure, making it ideal for the local climate. Aluminum fencing holds up well against salt air, especially near coastal areas. Cedar wood is valued for its natural pest resistance, which is important given local termite activity. For budget-friendly durability, vinyl-coated chain link works well. Always avoid untreated wood, as it deteriorates quickly in Crawfordville’s damp conditions.

Helpful?

In Crawfordville, backyard perimeters often require the most maintenance due to exposure to storms and local wildlife like deer and raccoons. Pool areas must have secure fencing for safety and to meet legal standards. Fences near wetlands or lakes need materials that resist moisture and corrosion. Gate hardware is prone to rust from humid air, and privacy fencing is common along busy roads such as Highway 319 to reduce noise.

Helpful?

When hiring fencing pros in Crawfordville, prioritize those with experience handling wind-resistant installations and knowledge of local wetland requirements. Confirm they have proper insurance and ask for references from recent projects in the area. Contractors with established relationships with local suppliers often provide better materials. Be cautious of unsolicited offers after storms and avoid bids that seem unusually low, as these may indicate subpar workmanship or materials.
