"Relatively small job - to widen by a few feet the 30 ft narrow stretch of our driveway coming off the street. Whole process went exceptionally well: Exceedingly well: 1. RSA Paving answered all our calls, usually within a few hours. 2. RSA was willing to take on our small job that would still require large equipment on site; it helped that we were willing to be flexible about scheduling. 3. Their requested down payment was reasonable - about 20%. 4. Within a few days of that payment, we had a scheduled date. That date did have to be moved once (due to weather and a larger prior job requiring more time than anticipated). However, the 2nd date held firm; and the crew showed up right on time. 5. The crew all were polite, friendly, exceedingly competent and hard working. 6. They completed the work as promised. Results look great!"

"Kivo was quick and efficient. They were able to squeeze me in since I was desperate to get rid of the dirt and roots in my backyard because my dog was getting sick from eating them. I would highly recommend them to anyone and will be using their services for future projects!"

"Aldo's has trimmed our trees, leveled our backyard, previously. This time (yesterday) Aldo's scrubbed and pressure washed our extra large parking area, continuing on with the porches and paver paths on the sides of the house. We had developed so much mold it just had to be done. Then, they scrubbed and pressure washed our large deck. The mold had made the wood very slippery when wet. The Aldo's crew also replaced all the deck furniture. Their clean-up after the job always leaves it looking great. These hard working gentlemen have always done a beautiful job for us. Their bid on the job been affordable and they stand by that bid. They are so good that we also enjoy tipping each worker separately at the end. Big "Thank You" to Aldo's. They are our go-to guys. "All around great experience. Easy to contact, shows up when he says he will and best of all great communication with permitting status and when work will begin. Very happy with my new patio and feel I got a good value for the price. I have already refered him to a neighbor."

"We needed paver repairs on our pool deck. We liked her written proposal which was not the cheapest estimate we received. Edna did not supervise the worker and the worker did not speak English. My husband had to point out issues he overlooked. This was quite frustrating. I would not recommend this pro."

Paving Services questions, answered by experts

Heated driveways cost an average of $12 to $25 per square foot. Depending on the size of your driveway, you may pay between $3,500 to $25,000 in total. Several factors can affect your bottom line, including material, labor, and system types. Investing in a heated driveway can save on snow removal costs because it will automatically melt the snow that falls on your driveway.

A driveway approach is the part of a driveway where the public road meets the private driveway. This section contains several key elements, including the driveway apron, the curb cut, and the end slope. Depending on the slope of the driveway, this area may also contain the trench drain.

If you're designing a new patio in an area with poor drainage, permeable pavers made from porous materials may help prevent water issues. Most permeable pavers feature a gravel-only aggregate base instead of a concrete base to allow water to flow through instead of getting trapped. While beneficial in some cases, permeable pavers come with higher initial costs and greater load-bearing limitations compared to traditional pavers.

The best ways to increase the lifespan of your driveway are to carry out proper maintenance and get repairs done quickly. First, reseal your driveway every one to three years to protect it from the elements. If you start to notice significant cracks, hire a professional to diagnose the problem before it gets more serious. You can also use sand instead of salt when de-icing your driveway (since salt is corrosive) and clean your driveway annually using a pressure washer to keep it in tip-top shape.

Wet cutting is usually the preferred method. It controls dust, which helps protect your lungs and makes for a cleaner working environment. Plus, the water cools the blade, preventing overheating and prolonging its life while providing smoother, more precise cuts. The downside is the mess—water and asphalt sludge can be messy to clean. Dry cutting, though convenient if water isn’t available, creates a lot of dust, which can be harmful. This also increases the risk of blade damage due to overheating. So, if you have the option, wet cutting is the better method for most asphalt jobs.
