"I recently had the honor of meeting Sarah at CCO. She give me a quote on a bookshelf, wine bar and pantry. She was wonderful and very responsive to my concerns. They did a fantastic job from start to finish! We couldn't be happier. It has always bothered me that there was no pantry in my kitchen - the one they created fits perfectly in that awkward corner. Give her a call - you'll be very happy! 417.299.3183"

"The trunk was in very bad condition. Eugenio restored the outside and the inside, including building a drawer/shelf that was missing. It took a month longer than originally promised, but the results were worth it. Eugenio was actually recommended to me by another furniture restoration company that was highly rated, but did not restore trunks. While it cost more than I'd like, I was happy with the results.

"I had two companies came and provided me with two different opinions about the leak in my home. Each company overcharged me for the services provided and did not fix the issue. Chris and his wife came to my home yesterday. He thoroughly investigated the problem and was able to get to the bottom of it very quickly. He fixed the problem that could have cost me around $1K, as estimated by the other companies. He is a very professional and honest. He and his wife share their knowledge with clients to learn more about their issues. I give this company more than 5 stars. Very professional and honest. It is extremely hard to find these qualities these days."

"The overall project was really nice when completed. The installation team took their time to ensure all was done as perfect as possible. We had a couple of hiccups, but it wasn’t their fault. It was existing things that were noticed at time of installation the we didn’t know about. But the crew was nice it took all day for them to remove the old tops and prep and install the new tops of three bathrooms. I would recommend them , I really happy with our new countertops ."

Closets questions, answered by experts

When storing your clothes long-term, first consider the container's breathability. While plastic bags, cardboard boxes, or vacuum sealing may be great options for short-term storage, they won’t help your clothes hold up in the long term. Breathable plastic boxes and fabric bags help with airflow, prevent mold or mildew from building up, and allow proper airflow.

Although you can complete a closet frame in just an afternoon, finishing the entire closet will take a few days to a week. However, that’s still not as much as the average time it takes to remodel a closet, which can take anywhere from several weeks to more than a month. That’s because you also have to consider the time it will take to demolish the existing space, plan a new design, order materials, and actually install it.

Different types of closets are defined mostly by size. A few different types of closets include:

  • A reach-in closet is a smaller closet that you can stand in front of and reach everything inside it. Aside from the size, the doors and the level of drywall finish are typically the largest price factors.

  • A walk-in closet can be anything from a small 5-by-5 feet closet that has a narrow walkway with shelves on both sides to a 100 square foot bedroom-sized closet with shelving along the walls and plenty of room to move around in.

  • A built-in wardrobe often does not have a door and leaves the clothes and other contents open to the room, whereas a closet usually has a door to separate it from the rest of the room.

Bump-out additions can add some space to a closet without requiring any significant structural work. This entails pushing back the existing rear or side of the closet, simply moving the wall into either an adjacent room or unused space. For ground-floor closets, this could even be extended to the exterior of the home, but that has its own complications. Bump-outs are a good discussion to have with your contractor if you’re just looking to increase the space a little—not renovate the entire closet space.

Building custom cabinets or built-in furniture yourself is possible, especially for basic designs, if you have woodworking experience. For a professional result, hiring a service is recommended to ensure precision, high-quality craftsmanship, and superior finishes.
