His justification for this is that "everyone has different opinions" about what is acceptable. So, if you aren't diligent in catching poor work, you will get merely an OK job. To be fair, he will gladly fix customer-identified problems. If you have the time and desire to work with him throughout the job to point out problems, then he may fine.
