We dealt with Adam Johnson (salesman) and James/Savannah Emerson (owners). All three were very helpful and professional. We had our roof replaced, as well, as our siding. I would strongly recommend them.

Mark and Curtis knew just how to proceed on not only regular maintenance, but their ability to solve some long standing problems with my sliders was amazing. They were friendly and courteous! I highly recommend their business.

  • Paramount Siding & Windows
    5.0
Paramount did an excellent job - the house looks fabulous. They were very generous - throwing in several upgrades (higher grade siding, accent siding, gutters & they repaired soffits & fascia). This work was covered by insurance and Paramount was able to include insulation in the bid when several other contractors were not. They were persistent in getting my business; I was prepared to go with another contractor, but they convinced me to give them a shot. I was glad I did. There were some very minor things that needed attention after the job was done and they addressed them right away. The only issue I had with this contractor was with payment options. As I said this was an insurance job. Because I had not received proceeds from insurance and Paramount needed a payment, I offered to make a partial payment with my credit card. The owner readily accepted my credit card payment. Later when I still had not received insurance proceeds and Paramount was calling me for another payment, I again offered to pay the balance with my credit card. This time, I was told I could not use the credit card again because it cost Paramount too much to use the cards and because the company had exceeded its limit with the credit card company. This has created a budgeting issue for me and I would have appreciated being informed up front that I could only use my credit card for limited amount. Still, my overall experience was a good one and the work was excellent. I would just make sure I spelled out every detail about payments prior to starting work

  • Vista Home Improvement
    5.0
This project was hampered by the record October snowfall and subsequent long power outage in New England. Even after taking storm delays into consideration, this job took five weeks to complete. This was much longer than the two week estimate given. I believe that Brian Rudd (Vista Owner) had overbooked jobs and was unable to assign an adequate number of crew to complete the project in a timely manner. All crew members were extremely coureous and accommodating. The house now looks much better than before. I would recommend Vista Home Improvement to anyone

Ed, and his crew came and started each project when they said they would be there and cleaned up each and every day. They always asked questions and showed me when there was issues. They are still working on my deck would expect there not to be any issues.

  • Roof Smart of SW Florida
    5.0
Besides checking out Roof Smart on Angie's List, we were referred to this company by two satisfied customers we personally knew, and we have not been disappointed with our choice. To begin with, we were given a list of completed jobs with the color shingles we were looking at, so we could drive around and see the finished result, which helped us make our choice. We realized from the beginning that this was a major project and expected problems, but in actuality they were few and any that did occur were taken care of by this company. Throughout the duration of the work, we were always able to make contact with someone if there were any questions or concerns. The finished project and cleanup was excellent. We would especially like to thank Frank, Misty, and Craig for everything they did to help make this major project less stressful. Without a doubt, this is a company that takes pride in its work and is professional in every way

Removal and installation took approx. 6 days-some days were not full days. Materials were delivered several days before any activity began. Expect a lot of noise, and forget about your quiet time during the day-these guys work really hard! Sunday though was quiet, obviously they do take a day off. Old roof and soffits were off the first day. Bad wood was replaced the next . By the 4th day, new roof was complete and soffits/gables 90% done. Gutters, electrical, telephone, and fiber optic lines were dealt with carefully. At the end of each day, everything was picked up. If it wasn't for the red dumpster no one would have known men had been at work. When ALL was done, the tarps, laying on the ground to catch nails and such, were taken up, and a large flat magnet was used to collect all metals around the house. The dumpster parked in the driveway, to hold all refuse, was towed away. Later, in the mail, I received a Thank you card along with a $50.00 gift card to a local restaurant! I would, however, like to say that, Mr. Jim Marks, the first person I met from Roof Smart and drew up my contract, was a very pleasant man with whom I enjoyed conversing. He was an "A-1" sales representative of the company and with deep regret, learned much later, had passed away soon after I had met him. I mention this because, though the company may have been in mourning, the work continued, and DONE WELL. I have photos..

  • Roof Smart of SW Florida

The price quoted was fair based on other competitive bids. Took 4 days to complete, with one weekend and one weekday where there was no work performed. Finished product was good to excellent. They willingly came back to tweak a few areas that I had identified, and cleaned up the worksite well. All in all, would recommend them. They will be the vendor to beat when I replace my shingle roof in a few years

I wanted to take this opportunity to express my complete satisfaction with roof smart. After doing significant research on my own accord, I finally reached out to Roof Smart. From the initial consultation and throughout the roof replacement process, Frank went above and beyond to keep me informed. Frank was always available to answer any questions that I had. The crew were very professional and the install was done in an extremely timely fashion. I doubt that you would find such a thorough job with any of the competition. From start to finish they kept the debris to a minimum on the property. The end product is fantastic. Usually, I do not write reviews as English is not my native language. In this case though, I could not let it go as I was completely impressed with Frank and the Roof Smart team. Furthermore, this is a very big investment. I wanted to share my experience to alleviate any stress for others when choosing a roofing company. Thank you Frank and Roof Smart

Median cost of siding a house

The cost of installing siding on a house depends on so many factors that it’s difficult to offer an accurate estimate without all of the information. Generally, though, average costs for re-siding a house vary from $2,900 to $44,000.

Square footage plays a large role when it comes to the cost of installing siding onto a property. The greater your house’s outside dimensions are—or the bigger the dimensions of the part to have siding installed—the more materials and time the job requires, which drives up the cost.

Additionally, the type of siding plays a role in overall price. Typical vinyl siding is the most cost-effective and averages $2 to $3 per square foot. Siding made from aluminum costs are similar, averaging $3 to $4 per square foot.

Stone and brick veneer are some of the most expensive materials. For the latter, you’ll pay, on average, $3 to $10 per square foot, and the former costs $8 to $11 per square foot.

Additional work needed to hang siding influences the cost of your job, too. If the siding company has to repair or replace decomposing boards or other infrastructure first, the prices tend to go up.

A great way to start to understand how much your job might cost is to ask for quotes from professionals in your area.

Best practices for hiring a community siding professional

Contracting a community business to make adjustments to your home involves a lot of confidence. Ensure you contract the correct siding contractor for your project by examining the details below as you pare down your available choices.

  • Find out whether your contractor requires—and holds—a license. License requirements for siding businesses are different by locale and state. Ensure any local company you work with has the proper license to guard your financial and legal interests.
  • Inquire about insurance. Insurance coverage is an additional important protection. Request evidence of insurance from your siding contractor so you know you both are covered if something happens during the project.
  • Review pictures of finalized work.
