D.R. Martineau Roofing & Construction

After hurricane Ian I had some minor cement siding damage. It’s hard enough to find companies that do concrete siding repair, but the first response I got from other companies is that we will not come out for less than 5K. I did not have that much siding damage. I contacted D.R. Martineau, they came out right away with no minimum disclaimer, and did not charge for the estimate. I also had some ridge cap damage on the roof and some gutter damage. They stayed in touch. When they came out, they were able to complete all the work in one day. The whole crew was great, they all talked to me about what was happening, and did the work with care. I hope I never need them again, but if I do, they will be the first I contact. I found them on the BBB site.

Fantastic work, very responsible and attentive. The communication was on-point. I was never left in the dark and the quality of the work was above expectations. Will definitely recommend.

DR Martineau was able to hunt down the brand and color of shingles I wanted even in this new, supply chain shortage era. They always showed up when they promised and they did an excellent job of installing the new roof. I will also add that DR Martineau was the only bidder who explained to me that I may need to add a third nail to the truss/wall connectors, but wouldn't know that for sure until they started the job and could peel back a section of plywood to make sure. As it turned out, I did need the third nail and over 40 sheets of plywood and new fascia where it had deteriorated over the last 36 years. They not only added the third nail, but replaced a lot of bad plywood and fascia board. That's the sort of contractor you want when it comes time to replacing your roof. Yes, it cost more, but they advised me of such beforehand and I considered it in the bid. The new gutters are also larger than the old ones and handle the water flow better. The roof looks better with the new color scheme vs the old one. The cost was in line with a couple of other bids and less expensive than some that didn't advise me of the need for the third nail on the trusses for meeting the newer wind mitigation standards. I'm saving money on my homeowner's insurance as a result, so feel it was well worth the added expense.

The professional staff was very easy to work with and took care of a leak I had until the roof could be replaced. I can’t say enough about Angel and his stafff. Thanks so much for a job well done. Gutters are great also

A great experience adding Seamless Gutters to my home. Then I hired them a second time to put gutters on another building. Super nice, professional, did an excellent job and cleaned up everything afterwards. Would recommend for sure!

We used D.R. Martineau for a new metal roof for several reasons, among which were that the company, apart from being a roofer, is a contractor capable of also replacing hurricane straps and facia. We live part of year in Sanibel and had to plan and coordinate the timing of our new metal roof installation with replacing our pool screen enclosure. Estimator, Reed Boling, was very knowledgeable, punctual and informative about metal roofs. He was patient and worked with us on our timing schedule. We would recommend the company to anyone looking for a metal roof. Company worked with us on time schedule and coordinated with pool screen installer on timing of facia replacement. In only one day, old roof tile and old paper were completely taken off, sections of roof were opened and all hurricane straps repaired/replaced and then the new membrane for the metal roof was installed. Company then replaced some facia boards on area of roof around pool. In roofing / construction, issues can happen, it is how they are dealt with is that is most important. More than half way through installation, a issue arose that seemed to be related to the ridge crown covers. The company quickly responded with a new crew. Angel Vega showed up and stepped in as the new primary contact and point person to finish the job. He and his crew took over. Angel dealt with a problematic situation, professionally and spoke to us candidly about what had happened with installation and what he and his crew was doing to redo some of the work in place and to finish the job timely and have the work pass inspection. His professionalism and candor made us comfortable about the actions being taken to finish our job in a timely fashion. He kept us updated on progress being made via text messages and/or phone calls. He was attentive and quick to respond. Good qualities! Bottom line, our metal roof installation got done timely without undo delays and passed inspection. All company workers were courteous and job site always kept clean. Our neighbors took note of the progress of our new roof going up and the work done by your company. Hopefully such translates into future work for D.R. Martineau.

We needed a roofing company to repair a leak on the roof and most of the companies I called either sent my call to voicemail and never called back or were too busy or rude. The first call to Martineau was answered promptly and a very nice lady told me someone would contact us the following week. Dan from the company came by as promised to check the roof which had lasted for 20 years. The leak had supposedly been fixed by a man from one of the online referral services referred by one of the big box stores, and as it turned out, he did nothing. Dan inspected the roof and it did need to be replaced. The work was started the first day of November as promised, and the guys were on time every day, they worked their butts off, and did a fantastic job. Everyone with the company was right on top of things, they did exactly what they said they would do for a VERY competitive price. I would highly recommend this company for any construction job which they do. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist (no offense) to see that they certainly deserve the A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau.

The company was very responsive. We scheduled an appointment for them to see the project. They provided a quote the same day and detailed the products that would be used and explained how they would complete the job. The timing they quoted was accurate and they held to the schedule. The roof looks great and the crew did an excellent job with clean up. We had a couple of issues with the gutters that they quickly addressed to our satisfaction. Definitely would recommend them.

Went well. Was a little concerned because they ended up being a few days behind in finishing due to hurricane Irma but they finished before the storm and it held up beautifully.

By far the worst contractor experience we've ever had! We are remodeling our entire house and got sucked into the D.R. Martineau Roofing trap. Marty the estimator came out and he was great, fed us a load about how there will be all this communication and how they stand by their work.. We went with them as they would be the quickest to start the job, not the cheapest. We are given a 4 week time frame and I'm told their job foreman will reach out to me early the following week to get me on the schedule. Into the third week of no one calling, we track down the foreman's number through the main office. He tells us it will be an additional 2-3 weeks as now there are more people that were put in front of us that signed up after us. No big deal we can wait, we were very understanding considering the situation. We are told we will get a call the week of as well as a walk thru so we can show the foreman where we know the leaks are so he can communicate to his guys. Inside the 3 week timeframe I show up to my property, where we don't live as its a complete remodel, and I have guys ripping into my roof. No notice, no walk thru and to boot I was unable to communicate with their guys as unfortunately I don't speak Spanish. I leave the foreman a message and don't hear back. The next day I get a message from a guy I've never heard of saying I needed to bring money to the house for them. Come to find out when i call their office the foreman quit. They had the mindset to have someone I've never heard of calling me for a mid progress payment but never a thought to have someone from the office call me and tell me whats going on?? Now the owner, Dan Martineau, comes out to meet me at the house and gives me his number and says they will take care of anything. I was completely reassured and very understanding of having personal quit on him, I just told him i need communication and he agreed there would be no further lapse. Well now we've had a hurricane and two weeks prior a massive four day long rain. The roof has leaked in the same spot both times. I called in the first time and told them i needed someone to come out and to call me back with when as i don't live at the property. A couple days later i get a call from one of their workers and he's almost at our property - while I'm at work and can't leave as I've had no notice. I call the office and they tell me someone will be there that Wednesday at noon so i take my lunch to go over to the property and no one shows up. Finally Dan, the owner, calls me and tells me he's sending his best guy out. The guy that came was great, very nice and seemed super knowledgeable, he visually inspected and couldn't find the source. He called his guys who were to come a couple hours later and fix whatever they could see and asked them if they had a hose to recreate the problem, i left the house open so they could get in and do whatever they had to do with a promise it would be locked behind them. When I checked the next morning the house was open. I called the guy that came earlier in the day the previous day to get a progress report on what was done. His guys didn't end up bringing a hose to recreate the problem, they visually inspected and couldn't find anything. I called Dan Martineau on his cell and he promised to call me this Monday to set up a time and come out personally to look at it himself. Thursday comes around and i haven't heard from him. I give him a call and he now tells me he doesn't have time for me and to call him when its leaking. Why five days earlier would he make this promise to come out and call to set up a time with me just to never follow up? How am I to finish my house with sheetrock knowing theres an active leak in my roof. I either leave the area open and don't finish my house or I close it up knowing theres a leak and it will mold up there before one day the sheetrock comes down again. Ive added pictures of the affected area. The sheetrock that came down was wet as well as the area under it on the shower subfloor. Now that it hasn't rained for a couple days that area is completely dry. Dan Martineau now tries to tell me there was never a leak there. I guess the soaking wet insulation, wet sheetrock that fell off the ceiling and wet floor we are just making up. Our only option now is to hire another company out of pocket to fix D.R. Martineau's mistakes.

Hired for tile roof repair. Best price and quality of repair work, with warranty, was excellent. Definitely would hire again!

Dan and his employees were always very reliable and courteous. Work was done on schedule. and looks great. When we needed a return visit for a minor issue there were no excuses or delays made. Dan's employee TJ was prompt and professional .The roof and solar tubes are a great addition to our home. I would recommend D.R. Martineau to anyone looking for quality work at a great price!

For the most part it went great. The crew that did the roof was extremely hard working, punctual and as un-intrusive as possible. I had requested that an object be taken up on the roof when they took pictures of the roof so I could be positive it is my roof. The supervisor on the project did this with a great attitude, the project manager did not. I never saw any of the pictures that the project manager took until I got the last bill. The supervisor came off the roof and showed me the pictures he took immediately. If you want anything special done make sure it is written in the contract.

W e needed more light in our LR because it was like a dark hole. The solar tube was recommended to us by some neighbors who have one. We contacted D.R. Martineau, who came over to check on our space and recommend the size we needed. We chose the model we wanted and it was installed quickly and efficiently. It gives enough light , so that we do not need to turn on electric lights during the day in the room. At night, there is enough solar energy stored to give a soft glow to keep the room lighted enough to see where you are going. It was a good decision to get it and well worth the costs.
