"Dustin and his team did a fabulous job of ridding us of our unwanted attic rats and racoons. Not only did they get rid of the critters but they also sealed all entry points, removed all existing insulation that the animals had dirtied and destroyed, sanitized the entire attic after removal and blew in all new insulation. In addition, they gave us a 2 year warranty on the job as well as the ability to transfer this protection to new owners should we sell the property within the next 2 years. They were extremely neat, professional, timely and their rates were very competitive. We highly recommend NWS to anyone with the same critter issues."

Bird Control questions, answered by experts

In most cases, a mother bird will return to a disturbed nest after the disturbance has passed. However, it can be hard for a mother bird to find a relocated nest. So, while it’s false that a mother bird will abandon her nest if it’s been disturbed, it’s not a good idea to relocate a nest with live babies or eggs in it.

DIY removal of birds or bats is not recommended due to safety risks and potential legal protections for certain species. While simple prevention methods can be done yourself, actual removal and control of an infestation should be handled by professionals who are familiar with safe, humane, and effective techniques.

Methods include exclusion devices, netting, and sealing entry points. Professionals ensure compliance with local wildlife regulations.

If a wild animal enters your yard, prioritize safety for yourself and the animal. Remember to avoid direct contact and always keep a safe distance. Contact local authorities or a wildlife rehabilitation center if the animal is hurt or in distress. Both sources should be able to guide you on how to proceed and send help if needed. Please wait for the animal to leave naturally for non-threatening situations, as many will. To deter future visits, implement measures like securing trash cans, sealing entry points, and removing potential food sources.

Birds are often averse to certain strong scents. For instance, the odor of predator urine, such as that from foxes or hawks, can deter them. Similarly, birds may dislike the pungent aromas of garlic, onions, and chili peppers. Essential oils like peppermint, eucalyptus, and citrus can also be effective in keeping birds away. However, it's important to note that individual bird species might react differently to these scents, so it might require some experimentation to find the most effective repellent for your specific situation.
