Small jobs welcome

"Ground Up Leveling was recommended to me by a friend for a new gutter install on a house I recently purchased. The owner, Marcus, and his crew were easy to work with, timely, and affordable compared to some of the other quotes I received. I would highly recommend their service to anyone in need of gutters or gutter replacement."

"Semir is the best and we have added him and his company to our list of preferred contractors. PropertyTech did the remodel on our house to prepare it for sale . The house sold in one day and they honored our request to pay our balance due at the closing! We have also recommended them to our Realtor. Love this company!"

"Damn they are good! I saw a small crack in my wall and called these guys out. james did a very thorough and professional job of evaluating the level of the floors in the house to see if there was any sagging(cool tools for sure). He then crawled under the house and evaluated it--extensive explanation, pictures, and plan. James made sure I understood the plan, the timeline, and the finances. I signed up and soon there was a crew--Jeff, Kyle, Andrew and William did the encapsulation for moisture mitigation and once again were very professional and thorough, making sure I understood what was happening when. Really great experience working with these guys. They are certainly my go-to folks for any work that I need that they do. Once again, Angi comes through with the best guys for the job."

"We hired John to add a Garage to our approximately 90 year house and renovate the rear bedroom and porch into a modern master bedroom. Our vision was to incorporate the garage addition onto the house while maintaining the house’s original character.John listened and achieved this goal as shown on the attached photos. John also incorporated this vision into the interior spaces by matching the existing finishes with modern construction materials. Upgrades accomplished beyond the new garage included demolition of the existing porch, rebuilding the rear of the house where the porch was demolished, new electrical service, relocation and expansion of the existing air conditioning, upgrade to the plumbing system and modern master bathroom. We used a cost plus contract which allowed us to work with John throughout the project to maintain our budget and even add a few additional items. As expected issues did arise but John quickly responded and addressed these issues to our satisfaction."

House Leveling FAQs, answered by experts

Trenching and boring are two distinct methods for installing underground utilities. Trenching involves digging a channel using equipment like an excavator, trencher, backhoe, or shovel. While it is a simpler process, it causes significant disruption to the surface, landscaping, and surrounding ecosystems.

Boring, also known as directional boring, is a less invasive alternative that uses a drill to create a tunnel for utility lines without disturbing the surface. This method is more precise and is ideal for installations that need to go underneath buildings, roads, or bodies of water. Although boring is less disruptive, it is generally more expensive than trenching.

Polyjacking and mudjacking can both be effective solutions for sinking concrete, but they have key differences. Polyjacking, which uses expanding polyurethane foam, is often considered a better option because the foam is significantly lighter than the cementitious material used for mudjacking. This reduced weight puts less pressure on the underlying soil and lowers the risk of future sinking. Polyjacking is suitable for any sinking concrete slab, while mudjacking is typically only recommended for non-structural concrete, such as sidewalks, patios, pool decks, and driveways. The primary drawback of polyjacking is its cost, which can be up to four times higher than mudjacking—as much as $25 per square foot compared to a maximum of about $6 per square foot for mudjacking.

Mudjacking is suitable for sidewalks, driveways, patios, and nearly all exterior flat structures. However, it may not suit severely damaged or heavily cracked areas.

The polyurethane used for polyjacking will expand and cure in 15 to 30 minutes. After that point, your slab will be safe to walk on and even drive on in the case of a sidewalk or concrete driveway. Double-check with your concrete lifting specialist to confirm a curing timeline, as products can differ.

Mudjacking can be an expensive foundation repair process, but in many cases, it’s well worth the investment. This is especially true if you’re lifting a portion of sunken foundation slab back into place. In that case, mudjacking can help avoid major structural damage and even home collapse by restoring the integrity of your structure with minimally invasive procedures. Mudjacking a concrete patio, walkway, or sidewalk can be worthwhile because it removes tripping hazards and makes your outdoor area more aesthetically appealing.
