"I contacted Rapid Locksmith Pros to rekey the doors to a store we just rented out because the old tenants didn?t leave out the old keys. We were under the impression we would have to switch out the locks but was happy they were able to make us new keys keeping the same locks on the doors. Great service 5/5"

"They did a good job correcting the alignment of the doors. They were on time as scheduled and did the work quickly. I had a bi fold closet door that I asked to be installed and agreed to pay extra for that install. I was told I had the wrong size door and needed a 78'' instead of 80''. Having been through this in the past when I remolded, finding a 78" door is a custom order. Typically the 80" bi fold door is cut to size by removing a little from each end and was expecting they would do that but they did not. Not sure why that was not offered as a solution. Overall service was good, quality of the work done was very good and it took less than the 2 hours they allocated."

"Walter and Glen at Protect Your Home Group with ADT are the best people to talk to in terms of security alarm. Being a locksmith myself I know how important it is to deal with the right people. I referred a lot of customers to them and so far they are happy with their service. I myself got one for my house. Thank you for a consistent service and great deal."

Locksmiths questions, answered by experts

Several types of deadbolts are available, including single-cylinder, double-cylinder, rim, smart, and electronic deadbolt locks. The most common type found in U.S. homes is the single-cylinder deadbolt, which uses a key on the exterior and a thumb turn on the interior. A double-cylinder deadbolt features two locking mechanisms and requires a key to be operated from both the inside and the outside.

Begin by checking the power source, typically a battery or wired connection. Ensure the battery is installed correctly, has sufficient charge, and isn't corroded. If it's a wired lock, examine the electrical connections to confirm they are secure and free from damage. Additionally, inspect the lock's programming or settings. Confirm that user codes or access credentials are programmed correctly and that any remote control devices are paired and functional.

There is a reason many commercial garages and storage facilities have roller garage doors. They stand out as one of the most secure options due to their unique design. The compact installation and absence of visible leverage points on the sturdy aluminum curtain make them a formidable obstacle for potential intruders.

The easiest way to pick a lock is by using a titanium rake pick. This type of lock pick comes in a variety of shapes used to simulate different key configurations but generally has a tip with a bent design. Rake picks are the most beginner-friendly lockpicks and the simplest to learn how to use.

Standard residential deadbolt locks come with a steel bolt that locks your door into place using a key (or keypad) on one side and a thumb turn on the other. When you lock it, the bolt slides into a strike plate on your door jamb to secure your door shut.
