"The move was perfect! They were able to schedule a local move for the next day. They arrived at the pickup location 15 minutes early and started planning the procedure and route out of the home. Then they expertly wrapped the entire piano, took off the legs and rolled it away. When they delivered the piano 30 minutes later, they were very careful not to hit any furniture or doorways. Very efficient. Very friendly. Extremely careful and professional. These guys are the best!"

"The movers were very knowledgeable and professional. Edwin kept us laughing, which isn't easy in the midst of a move! We had 4 movers and they didn't leave until everything was placed and assembled exactly the way we wanted. This is how moving should be!"

"Utilizing All Service Moving for the move was a very positive experience. They had good communication, answering several questions prior to the move and did a final confirmation just prior to the move date. As for the physical move itself, Jose, Abraham, and Alberto were polite, diligent, and careful moving the many items, and managed to complete the move more quickly than anticipated."

"Moving is nobody's favorite thing to do and hopefully I won't have to move for a while but if I ever move again it would be through Headway. They showed up early, the team was professional and courteous throughout, and I couldn't believe how fast they operated. I would highly suggest for anyone having to move in the future."

"Ignore every other mover on here and hire Deven! I am not joking!! I have used Deven's company, Liberty Moves on three completely separate occasions now. I first learned about his company when I was looking for someone to help me move me out of my apartment. The company I hired never showed up nor would answer my phone calls the morning of my move. I had spoken with Deven on the phone the night before (which happened to also be a Sunday) and he suggested if anything bad happened to reach out to him. Well it did, and Deven scrambled to get over to my apartment to help move me out. He and his employee busted their butts getting everything loaded up and then unloaded at my new place. They didn't stand around and chit chat. They didn't take breaks. The worked in the hot Florida Summer Sun until it was all finished. I immediately hired him on the spot to move my fiancee the next week (now especially since my original mover never called me back). Once again, he and his amazing team packed up an entire apartment (on the second floor) and moved it to our new home. Still no goofing off. No standing around. Pure Professionalism. Pack the truck. Drive to the new home. Unpack the truck. When I had an emergency situation and needed help moving some more things, Deven was there again to help me out. I am happy to have found him and his company, and will continue to use him long into the future. Thank you Deven for your professionalism and hard work!"

Moving questions, answered by experts

Using moving pods is generally cheaper than hiring a full-service moving company, primarily because you handle the packing and loading yourself, which eliminates labor costs. The cost savings are most significant for long-distance or cross-country moves; for local moves, hiring a moving company might be the more economical option. Renting and shipping moving pods can cost between $2,000 and $5,000, depending on factors like distance, the number of containers, and the weight of your items. Some services also charge a monthly rental fee of $75 to $200. In comparison, hiring a professional moving company for a long-distance move typically costs between $2,700 and $10,000.

Start by removing any obstacles in the moving path, such as side tables, lamps, or other furniture. If your couch has legs, unscrew them. Measure the couch and the stairway to ensure you have enough room; if it seems unlikely, examine the shape and size of the couch and decide whether it might fit better up the stairway and through doorways on its side, held diagonally, or moved in an upright position.

Consider putting the sofa on a dolly to go up the stairs. It should be able to fit upright on a standard dolly with wheels. You’ll still need to lift the dolly—with the couch on it—up the stairs, but it will reduce the physical strain. The person holding the dolly should pull the couch up, while the helper should be on the other side, keeping the couch secure and steady.

If you don’t have a dolly, the person in front should lift the couch slightly higher than the person in the back to create more stability. The person in the back should also be the stronger mover, as most of the weight will be distributed there.

Yes, there are sometimes hidden costs when hiring a moving company. These can include fees for packing, handling, and assembling specific large items, fees for packing materials used, and charges for trips over a certain mileage. To avoid hidden fees, always request a detailed quote before booking or paying a deposit.

The best way to transport a TV is to wrap and pack it tightly in a TV moving box with plenty of padding to protect it from damage. If a box is not available, you can use moving straps and moving blankets to secure the TV in an upright position within the moving vehicle. To prevent it from shifting during transportation, place large pieces of furniture around it for stability.

Renting a moving truck or using a shipping container (or moving pod) are typically the cheapest ways to move long-distance. For moving a few items, a container can cost as little as $700. Renting a standard-sized moving truck averages between $1,200 and $2,100. For longer distances, moving pods can become more cost-effective, as you can ship the pod to your destination and avoid transportation costs like gas, mileage, and lodging.
