"I had the fence in my backyard blown down by Hurricane Debby snapping most of the 4x4 center posts. 3 A's Fencing came to the house and gave me a very reasonable quote. Twelve days later, 3 A's replaced all the center posts, reattached the fence in a few hours and had my fence looking like new. I will hire them again if I need any fencing work in the future."

"Excellent work. Many residents in our neighborhood have used Gifford Fence with great results, so this job was the HOA hiring them to replace the community's old wooden fence with a white vinyl fence. The work was done on time and looks wonderful. Jerry Gifford has fencing down to a science from obtaining the proper permits, to the scheduling, to the installation."

"Casey listened carefully to my hopes for a fence that was level across the top. In one part of my yard the ground is not level, and he took the time to come to a solution that made me very happy. I highly recommend this company."

"We had a wonderful experience with this fence company. From the beginning, they were extremely communicative and kept us informed throughout the entire process. The crew arrived on time each day, worked efficiently, and completed our white vinyl backyard fence in just two days. The workmanship is excellent, the fence looks beautiful, and the whole process was smooth and stress-free. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for quality fencing work."

Fencing questions, answered by experts

A split rail fence is not typically considered among types of dog fencing. Many dogs are small enough to slip out between or under rails, and dangerous pests like coyotes can slip in. However, adding wire mesh to a split rail fence can add the security needed for dog safety without compromising the timeless look that makes the split rail style appealing.

You can reuse chain link fences as long as they’re in good condition. The best part—reusing it helps you make the most of the cost of a chain link fence. Whether you want to reuse it or consider asking someone to remove it for you in exchange for a free fence, it’s possible. If you can’t find a location for it in your yard, you can repurpose a chain link fence by donating it to a local animal shelter or community garden.

DIY installation is possible for small fences or sections. However, professional installation is recommended for larger projects to ensure proper alignment, stability, durability, correct post setting, and compliance with local zoning codes.

You’ll need to bury the garden fence about 1 foot underground. It’s tempting to save on materials by burying the fence just a couple of inches, but if you do so, determined pests will still be able to dig under the fence and access your plants. Burying your garden fence deep into the soil is an important step that allows you to attach a wire barrier to the fencing.

Burrowing animals (like voles, moles, rabbits, and gophers) can’t dig or chew through this wiring, meaning that you’ll be keeping your prized petunias or your robust veggie garden from being eaten.

The bottom strand should sit between 12 to 15 inches from the ground. If you have a problem with small critters, you can aim for 8 inches. Three-strand fences should be 16 to 19 inches apart, four-strand fences should be 10 to 12 inches apart, and five-strand fences should be 8 and 10 inches apart.
