"Just had my trees trimmed by Jamail at I Cut Trees. He did a fantastic job. Reasonable, on time, professional and cleaned up beautifully. The best part my trees look fantastic and the old growth was cleaned to allow the trees to flourish! If you need work done give him a call!"

"I previously hired a company to grind a stump in my backyard, but the job was left incomplete and not to my satisfaction. CT Stump Grinder took care of the rest and made sure the stump was completely removed as well as the roots that were above-ground creating an uneven surface. They were professional and courteous and I would hire them again."

"The crew did a fantastic job taking 3 trees down and cleaning the area so well, you couldn't tell that trees had been cut. All debris removed and area raked. They were polite and did the job quickly while I was at an appointment away from home. I returned to the job done and a clean yard. I had asked for two trunks to be cut so I could make a seat for myself and they were cut perfectly so I could put a piece of wood on them. Thanks guys! I recommend Ethan and his crew to anyone wanting a great job done , a good value and knowledgeable workers."

"I called Icon Tree Service on a Friday. They came out the same day after finishing the job they were doing. They actually looked at the tree I needed trimmed, quoted a price and did the job right then. My pygmy date palm looks like it's supposed to since Icon Tree Service manicured it. I would definitely recommend them ."

Arborists questions, answered by experts

Some trees will bounce back just fine, and others will struggle and possibly die. Evergreens, for instance, have a very difficult time recovering after droughts and usually die after periods of extreme dryness. Usually, you’ll have to just wait and see—if the drought occurs in wintertime, it’s possible that your tree will recover during the gentler springtime.

Coverage varies quite a bit by policy, but most homeowners' insurance policies will cover $500 to $1,000 of the cost of removing a tree. Additionally, if your tree causes damage to your property, like your house, many policies will cover some or all of the costs to repair the damage, depending on why the tree fell.

Large, established tree branches won’t grow roots, but if you find a young tree branch that’s less than about a year old, you’ve got a shot. Put it in water or soil as soon as possible for best results. You’ll know the branch is viable if it’s about the thickness of a pencil and has some leaves or needles.

Trees should be pruned every two to five years, depending on its age and type. Young trees should be inspected and pruned every two to three years. Mature trees should be inspected and trimmed every three to five years, and fruit trees should be pruned annually with a careful eye on seasonal growth. Evergreens typically don’t need pruning, unless branches or limbs are damaged, diseased, or harboring pests.

Using vinegar to kill tree roots is just one of the clever ways to use vinegar around the house. The method works best when you apply vinegar as directly to the root system as possible. For example, if the old tree roots and stump are currently exposed, drill holes in the tops of the roots and pour undiluted white vinegar into the holes to soak into the plant. Remember that vinegar can kill the surrounding grass and plants should it pour over the edge.
