"Mike and his crew did a great job. He came in with the best price and got the job done as scheduled. I was amazed at how good a condition the lawn was in after they completed the installation. I was very happy with the results and would highly recommend them"

"Crimson Bay did a beautiful job cleaning up my existing landscaping areas. They took out the old stones & washed them. They pulled up the old plastic & leveled out the ground underneath, removed moss from the concrete wall, added a weed deterrent, laid down new landscaping paper, & put the cleaned stones back & added edging. They were professional, polite, & worked diligently. I thought the price was very reasonable. I highly recommend them."

"The guys from Brison (3 of them) exceeded my requirements, not only did they level the lawn, they removed all the vines from the house, fence and trees as well as mowing the backyard and bagged and removed ALL the debris. I give them my highest recommendation and my greatest thanks."

Lawn Irrigation questions, answered by experts

Unfortunately, garages are one of the worst places to store grass seeds, despite their proximity to yards. Garages are hot and humid, two environmental traits that are detrimental to grass seeds. Grass seed has the best chance of survival in a dry space with temperatures ranging from 30 to 60 degrees Fahrenheit.

With that in mind, the best place to store seeds is in a sealed container in the refrigerator or in the coolest part of your home. Also, limit your seeds’ access to sunlight for the best germination results down the line.

Wait at least three weeks after overseeding ryegrass before breaking out the lawn mower. Mowing sooner will tear up much of the delicate, newly seeded ryegrass as it won't have established strong roots to anchor it yet.

Some grass types grow better than others on hard dirt. For example, hardy grass types like perennial ryegrass and Kentucky bluegrass will grow better on tough soil. Keep in mind that you should still consider your area’s climate when deciding on a grass type.

No, it's not a good idea to put grass seed directly on top of dead grass. For successful germination and growth, grass seed needs good soil contact. To prepare the area, start by removing the dead grass using a shovel or a sod cutter. Then, loosen the soil, add soil amendments if necessary, and spread the grass seed evenly. This allows the seed to come into direct contact with the soil, promoting better germination and establishing a healthier lawn.

Germination varies with grass type and climate, generally taking 7 to 21 days. Full lawns develop over a few months.
