"Joe was very easy to work with, professional, and polite. His head worker Nico was the same, as well as the crew he brought with him. They knew what to do and were competent through the entire project. We were so pleased and happy we have more projects for Coastal Home Renovations, Joe, and Nico."

"We are extremely happy with our decision to have a deck built by Accessible Home Builders. Rodney was very knowledgeable helping us with the design, he had a lot of great input and know exactly what we were looking to do. Derby and Doug did an excellent job on the construction, it is well built and was completed in a timely manner. We have gotten many compliments! All three showed a high level of professionalism which made the whole process go very smoothly. Highly recommend!!!"

Home Building questions, answered by experts

Handypeople usually don’t hold trade licenses, so they typically aren’t qualified to tackle projects involving installing or making alterations to plumbing or electrical lines. Below are some jobs that a handyperson usually won’t be able to complete:

  • Installing plumbing for a new kitchen or bathroom

  • Replacing plumbing pipes

  • Installing or repairing septic systems

  • Running new electrical wiring

  • Installing a subpanel

Green homes are often more expensive to build, averaging around $200 per square foot compared to the $150 per square foot you’d spend to build a standard home. However, green homes can save you money on your utility bills by consuming less energy or creating energy using solar panels or wind turbines on-site. They’re more expensive to build, but they often end up costing less in the long run.

Yes, modular homes offer a wide range of customization options for layout, finishes, and features.

One of the best ways to negotiate with a homebuilder is to forgo price reductions. Instead, negotiate over upgrades and incentives, as many builders are more willing to go down that road than to decrease their own fee. Even if they were willing to take a cut, a reputable homebuilder often knows their worth, so a willingness to negotiate could be a red flag. Beyond that, builders are typically willing to negotiate closing costs instead of offering a discount on the base price.

A-frame homes are on the smaller side. While there’s no set square footage amount it has to be, it will usually come in around 1,000 square feet or smaller.
