"Did a great job on the insulation however they left a hole in the ceiling when they dropped something on the attic floor. Not a big deal but they need to be careful. Overall, amazing work they do all kinds of insulation and they also install radiant barriers on roof joists. They are reasonably priced and the crew is super friendly, pleasure to work with."

"We are extremely satisfied with the whole process of our house being insulated. First we had the walls done, and then a couple weeks later we had our attic insulated. The crew were so nice, friendly, and knowledgeable. We are very satisfied with everything. Thank you, everyone."

"Don Lonski of Lawson Home Services came to our home to clean our dryer duct and the back of our dryer. My goodness he was absolutely wonderful. The last Teck that came refused to open the back of our dryer and clean the lint. He claimed it was not necessary to open the Flexible Vent Hose to remove all the line. After a few years our dryer was not very hot. Clothes were still damp. So, I just stopped using my dryer and hung everything on all the doors. I was afraid of a fire. Saved money on the electric bill; but I needed my dryer back. We want to tell you that Don Lonski checked everything and he said you must always remove the Flexible Vent Hose and clean in the back of the dryer. And it should be done once every year. Not only that Don Lonski went into our crawl space and found our metal duck work was improperly installed. Instead of using the metal the whole 20 feet, they used 15 feet of metal and used the Flexible Vent Hose at both ends and did a terrible job of taping as a result we had major leakage. Don Lonski said he will return when the office schedules him and he will do the job correctly. Don was very professional, ever so pleasant and extremely knowledgeable. Don Lonski really took his time to explain all the problems we had. We are so grateful that we ended up with a great guy. Please schedule Don Lonski to return to complete our job completely. "I got 3 estimates and this company was the best price. From the free estimate to completion of work, everything was so professional. They showed up on time with a 7-man crew, so the job was completed in one day. Six years after the job was done, my basement is still bone dry - so dry it actually gets dusty! My crawlspace is so low a person can only crawl around, but they did a great job there, as well, installing a thick white vapor barrier."

"When Mike did the free estimate, he told me it wasn't the walls where we were losing heat. It was my crawl space. Also, totally above the work of insulating the space, he noticed an air duct was disconnected. He got the straps needed to fix the vent and didn't charge me. Excellent customer service. He was neat, on time, and quick with the insulation."

Insulation questions, answered by experts

While there are many different kinds of insulation, spray foam, blown-in, foam board, and batt and roll are the four types you’re most likely to see. That doesn’t mean they’re alike, though. Each one varies drastically in terms of cost, materials used, and how they’re installed—not to mention, how well they limit heat transfer.

Also known as sound-dampening blankets, acoustic blankets reduce echo in a room. They come in different thicknesses and materials, and they can be nailed or glued to walls.

Blown-in insulation works, but only for unfinished attics. Also, it isn’t the longest-lasting nor the most effective option. For better options, look into spray foam insulation or natural fiber batts. They typically have a longer lifespan, better heat resistance, and stronger sound-proof abilities. Spray foam insulation costs about $1.25 to $1.50 per square foot, but can go up to more than $4 per square foot. Fiber batt pricing varies depending on the material.

You do not need to drywall over most types of garage insulation. However, doing so can increase noise reduction, make the space more attractive, and keep children and pets from touching harmful fiberglass insulation. If you’re using cellulose or some other type of blown-in insulation (fiberglass and mineral wool are common), you will need drywall to contain the insulation material.

Yes! Outdoor faucet covers work by enclosing the faucet with a thick, insulating material that will keep the faucet warmer than outdoor temperatures. They need to be sealed tightly against the house to work properly, though, so be sure to tighten the rubber strap or drawstring on the insulation cover to best protect your faucets.
