Customers say: True professional

"As with any contractor, you need to keep an eye on the work being performed. They installed drywall for us. They are very fast and went right over an electrical box. We needed to tweak some other areas also, but overall I think they did a good job for a fair price."

"Art Work Painting completed the drywall repairs in my garage and painted the garage. Sergio was great to work with, very responsive and answered all my questions. His crew did a great job in the garage and cleaned up afterwards."

Small jobs welcome

"Bill and Jim did an EXCELLENT job of painting my walls going up to the 2nd floor, the living room and all the trim. They were very neat in their work, and cleaned up all their supplies without any mess leftover. I would DEFINITELY recommend them to anyone who needs some painting done, AND they were very reasonable with their price, and because I was impressed with their work, I gave them a $200.00 bonus. HIRE THEM!!!!"

"He did a good job, but his weed Wacker broke down and he stated he will return today. I am buying a lawnmower this week and my grandson said he will do the weed wacky for me. Thanks for doing what you were able to do."

"Very kind and courteous of your time. Always cleaned up after themselves and even fixed some last minute areas we didnâ t know were there. On top of the drywall repairs they did a full paint of walls and ceilings and it looks great! Marker colored walls werenâ t able to be cleaned but they were able to find paint to cover up the remainder of my the marks and itâ s totally unnoticeable."

"I love working with Jim. Prior to coming out and charging me, he tried walking me through fixing it over the phone. This was on his time at 8pm. Then he was out promptly the next day to fix it."

Drywall questions, answered by experts

Whether you apply the drywall mesh before or after drywall mud depends on the type of patch it is. For self-adhesive patches, you’ll put the patch down first and then coat it with mud. Mesh patches that are not self-adhesive will require you to put mud down first and then press the mesh into it, followed by additional coats of mud.

Textured walls are a great way to hide imperfections left over by drywall installation, but many homeowners feel like it’s an outdated look, despite there being so many types of drywall texture. And while the textured walls of today are a far cry from the popcorn ceilings and faux stucco of our grandmother’s homes, if you want a more modern look or you want to install wallpaper, it’s time to smooth out your walls.

It’s less costly to drywall a fireplace than shiplapping it since material costs are higher for shiplap. However, if you’re DIYing the project, shiplap is less expensive since you won’t have to pay for labor. With drywall, getting a smooth finish is difficult unless you’re a pro. Shiplap is ideal for an accent wall or unique space, such as around a fireplace, since it adds texture and gives off a cozy vibe.

Yes, professionals often repair minor wall openings made for insulation injection to restore the surface.

Drywall anchors won’t work on plaster. Instead, they will more than likely cause more damage and pull out the plaster. The best type of anchors to use on plaster walls are the ones that will bite into the surrounding area, such as molly bolts and toggle bolts. Masonry anchors with expanders on the sides also work for lighter pictures.
